Stglover, that's very true! Good to hear your story!
I'm ret. Military and I get a very generous pension from the V.A. which is also tax free, I own two condos here in Myrtle Beach,SC which have doubled in value over the last two years, investments in stock and a good bit of savings in the bank so I'm in very good shape financially and I don't feel "guilty" about it because I earned it.
.

Thanks Popeye! I also don't feel guilty about a thing (I'm not rich either...just much more comfortable than when I ever worked for someone else). Like the guy I posted to before....I'm proud of anyone that pursues a dream...sticks at it and makes it pay off. And probably more proud of the ones that haven't found it yet but are still out there trying! I'm no rocket scientist but in a 7 trillion dollar a year economy it isn't that tuff to come up with something that gets a person a bigger peice of the pie......and some freedom.

This could just be an observation, but it does seem that the majority of the people that I have met in the lifestyle have barely been able to pay their own rent.

I have met some that are wealthy, or at least better off, but so many seem to be barely making it.

Just my area or??

Its not just people in BDSM its people of all walks of life.
Look at the people who live in foreign countries and consider yourself lucky to even have a building to live in.

When I was little, my parents gave me a very tiny allowance (age/10...  When I was 10, I got $1), and if we wanted something, we had to pay for it - candy, many toys, etc.  My dad also was our bank, and paid great interest (I think 10%, plus random bonuses)  Because of this, we all learned to manage our money well: to save up for things we wanted, even if we had nothing in mind yet; to think about buying something; if you can't afford it, don't buy it; never go into debt over wants and more.

Nowadays, I have to say, I manage my money well.  I spend very conservatively, work hard for the money I make from my job, and don't care about brands.  I have nothing to prove to anyone about my financial situation, and am so grateful I learned the value of a dollar early.

Yours,

benji

You don't need to carry a balance on the credit card to get the activity reported on your credit report.  Use the card to buy things but always pay it off in full and on time.  This is the same as paying cash (and no finance charges).

Well said Mistress! I'm kinda on a "if you don't care for it...then change it" thing?. Quick example about foreigners.... I personally know a gal from Czech.... she barely speaks the language but being she came from Czech... she really understands how truely great this country is.....she sees the opportunities. She started a cleaning biz by scrubbing on her hands and kness (I've also worked for her a couple of times when she couldn't get help so I've seen her scrubbin!) and has more biz than she can handle. She does VERY well and now is buying up property for investments/resale...became a US citizen....hires a few locals and still works her ass off scrubbin floors! When you watch a foreigner who lived on the streets and hear some stories of where they came from and their previous life.....it tends to make you step back and appreciate what we have and the opportunity that anyone in this country can have if they just go out and get it.....
