I have never said there is no difference between northern and southern ireland and if you read my posts properly you will see that.
Why do you have such a big problem with the state of our football teams?
How well did the USA do?
Not as good as us if my memory serves me correct and we did crap.

Many years ago the home nations England, Scotland and Wales were actually the best world soccer teams (coz no ne else really played) and when the international orgnisations were originally set up England etc didn't think it was worth playing the other teams. Eventualy they did and got a big suprise (and kicking - re Hungary)
Each home nation has a place in FIFA so UK has 3 to 4 votes...!!. Other sports such as Rugby and cricket are also played as national teams - England, Wales, Scotland etc though the English cricket team is for England and Wales..............  main reason is its historical, quirky, and illogical, and therby inately British or English which ever you choose..........which is also why the New Zealanders stuff us at Rugby and the Aussies at Cricket..... and we love it.

It's democratic system is crap. Governments get in by default and not through the popular vote. They do what they want as though they are tinpot dictorships and claim a mandate when they are always minority governments in reality.
Name me a country thats governing body doesnt do exactly what it wants?
 
I think you'll find Holland, one of several European countries that has a better functioning deomocracy than Britain. A political party can expect to collapse if it ignores the people too much. It is not a case of the best of the two evils.

The class system still exists despite the claims of politicians and the middleclasses that it doesn't. (one of the reasons I don't live there.)

You live in Britain you should know. Even my young daughter noticed Holland was more egalitarian and less class conscious than Britain.

Middleclass Britain complains about poor people sucking off the system while doing everything they can to avoid paying tax and so robbing the state of more money than any benefit fraud

The Labour government published statistics that showed tax avoidence robbed the exchaquer of more money than benefit fraud.
