I never buy junk.

You bought a glock that failed to eject properly and you bought it from a company that said you had a "limpwrist" and tried to stonewall you on your warranty

Yes, is there a point or a question on that ?

You said you never buy junk and I pointed out that you obviously had.

I'm not going to get into the innovations, safety features and quality of Glock handguns but they certainly are not junk. Them trying to blow me off with the limp wrist bull shit I thought was quite odd. I had never even heard of "limp wrist" back then. Maybe they were dumbfounded that one of their guns wasn't working properly, I don't know. Ultimately they stood behind the product and I haven't had any failures since with my quality Glock handgun.

The quote in question

I'd say that 40 in a six month period looks on track to be 80 a year. Maybe you shouldn't pretend to be a mathematician.

Different post. Trying to massage the facts to suit his bullshit. A million to one per year is a very different claim than simply one in a million and you know it.

The probability changes every year. That was one of the article's points, how much it has dropped. And the "quote" you posted isn't the quote. The actual quote is...

Today, the odds are more than a million to one against a child in the U.S. dying in a firearm accident.

Focus on the pretty word in red, bozo, and stop making shit up. For further assistance, see here.

K.

That changes nothing about the quote. One in a million works out to 4.5 a year. The real rate is more than 20 times that.

Maybe you should learn to read and do simple math before attacking people who can do both.

And the very mention of gun safes will result in the gun nuts whining about that being too big a burden.

It depends on what you consider a "safe" to be. I'd never have a gun in the house without having some way to secure them when I'm not home. But I only have a few pistols, so I have two relatively sturdy lock boxes. They won't stop a determined thief, if he finds them and can get into them before police respond to our alarm, but they're reasonably secure. If that would satisfy requirement, I'd be fine with that. But if you're saying that anyone who owns even one gun needs to install a full-blown safe, that's insane. By the time you pay for the safe, and delivery charges, you're at around $1000 for even the cheapest. That doesn't take into account getting them upstairs. Making sure your floor can support the weight. I'm sure other charges I'm not thinking of right now.

Whatever, Mr. Argue Over Trivial Shit. In the early 90's when I bought the freakin Glock, even premium ammo was closer to .25 in boxes of 20 or 50.

Pistol ammo comes 25 or 50 in a box.
Rifle ammo comes 20 in a box.

I hate to break this to ya but premium ammo actually does come in boxes of 20. Federal Premium, Winchester Super X and Black Talons are a few.

Yes, I have noticd that as the price of ammo goes up the size of the box seems to go down...sticker shock may play a role here.

I guess that makes me paranoid and Ramboesque.

Not necessarily...but needing to have a gun ready at a moments notice 24/7/365 is.

As far as I'm concerned, if someone is proficient with their handgun, not having it ready at a moments notice 24/7 is illogical.

In your whole life, how many times have you needed a gun at"a moments notice"?

As many times as I needed my fire extinguisher. It's a funny thing about emergency equipment, if ya ever need it, there is no substitute.

Your answer seems to be that it has never happened...but you just know that the boogy man is under the bed[8|] Now just because you are paranoid does not mean that you do not have enemies. And from the fact that you have managed to keep them at bay for this many years is certainly a testimony to you percieved rediness.

We went through this Bama... in another threat I linked accidental gun DEATHS for you...many under the age of 14...and many in the last few years...Trying to deny there is a problem with accidental gun deaths, especially among children, is disingenuous at best.

I could understand a different view on how to solve the problem but denying there is one in the first place is putting your desire for everything guns ahead of children's safety.

Learn to read liar. Did the second quote include per year in it anywhere? Can you not understand that there is a difference between claiming that there is a one in a million chance of something happening to a child and there being a one in a million chance per year of something happening to a child.

So why not stop digging you fucking dumbass?

I do not say that there isn't a problem, one death is a problem.
However in that other thread you made the absurd claim that more kids are killed in these
accidents than there are defensive uses of guns. When even Bloomberg puts the figure at well over 100,000 defensive gun uses a year your claim becomes the product of either ignorance or getting your information from abominable sources. Since I don't think you are an idiot it must be the latter.

Well yes it did, because you calculated the number based on the 2014 population. Since the population changes every year, the number is tied to a yearly base.

See how that works, dumbass? [:D]

Wrong dumbass. That was just convenience. People do it all the time. It is far simpler than building in population growth (which is negligible at the scale involved). You can easily see that by doing the fucking math yourself that one is a lifetime figure and the other is per year. Now explain that if you think they were both per year?
