CobaltRose -> Why is being into "big girls" still considered a fetish? (5/10/2014 6:15:53 PM)

I plan on being a chubby girl (since im already a chubby guy) and what pisses me off is that people still consider liking women who are bigger than what society says so is a fetish. Why are people who like big girls called "chubby chasers" but people who like small girls not called, i dont know, "twig trackers" yes, i know, dumb name, but so is "chubby chasers"

Only because you're sensitive and defense to the one extreme. Girls have been criticized for being too skinny as well. In fact, it's described as sickly -- remember "heroin chic"?

I just think liking a certain weight shouldn't be considered a fetish.

I've never even heard the term until your thread.

I believe it is more of a preference than a fetish.

Preferences aren't fetishes. Nevertheless, if only one particular type of physical attribute turns you on, this it would be fetishism due to the objectification involved.
Fetishes and a fetish object go hand in hand.
If something interferes with your (plural) ability to enjoy sex unless this condition is met, then it has become a sexual fetish.

Is your issue with the concept of a fetish itself? Or the fact that some men have a fetish to begin with, which entails objectification?
If a man prefers slender women, then that is not necessarily a fetish.
If under no circumstances can he become sexually aroused by any woman who doesn't meet his requirements for slenderness, then he has what I call a skinny fetish.
I have a friend who is like this. He actually has 4 fetishes, in my estimation. There could be more I'm not aware of. [8|]
He only likes slender women, with proportional butts and feet. If these are not proportionally small, then it doesn't turn him on.
He has an Asian female fetish. For skinny Asian females, with proportionally small butts and feet. (You see where I'm going with this?)
Needless to say his interactive fetish objects are their ass and feet, as in ass worship and feet worship. He's a little more flexible when it comes to breast size since he doesn't have a breast fetish.

Now, if someone prefers a physical attribute such as facial hair, but this is not mandatory for her/him to become attracted to a man, then it wouldn't be a fetish.
Do you get the distinction?
You can object all you like, but it is what it is, and it's better for you to be cognizant of where your potential partner is coming from.
Suppose you had an illness and were no longer chubby, would you want a partner who wouldn't find you attractive anymore because of this fetish factor?
But even deeper than that -- Do you want a fetishist who will always make you feel self-conscious about yourself and about your body? I know I don't.
Do you want someone who will be attracted to others while he is with you because their body part(s) meets his desirability quotient more than yours does?
It's something worth pondering about.

I think what i meant was i dont like how people veiw men who have a preference for chubby girls as "chubby chasers" instead of just, you know, men who like women. But maybe i just am too naive, and need to realize the world isnt gonna stop putting people in groups. Its easy, after all. If you're not ina group you tend to feel left out, then again, if you are in too big a group you can get lost in the crowd.

You are looking at the world through a very small lens: just because some men (or some people) term men who prefer "chubby girls" "chubby chasers" doesn't mean all do.

I have the impression that "chubby chasers" are only interested in extreme obesity, the kind of level where a person's health may be at high risks and they love them that way. That's the fetish.

There will always be people who will term things in ways that you personally find offensive.
In many cases they aren't trying to offend.

There is a term that you have probably heard of: taking offense.
For me, it is a reminder that being offended is a conscious action.

Too, think about all the possible phrases that you may use that are potentially offensive to someone.

The thing is, some people have a preference for people who are at a higher weight. Some genuinely do fetishize them. For those people the overweight body is very much a fetish object -the person inside is a secondary consideration to the size. So liking larger women isn't automatically a fetish, but I see profiles every day which indicate that it very much can be. And those folks who do seek out any woman so long as she's big can be vocal, and so it's no wonder people come to see it all as a fetish.

Greta75 -> RE: Why is being into "big girls" still considered a fetish? (5/11/2014 1:44:45 AM)

I've also come across men who states clearly in their profile that they like all women, of all sizes and shapes and figures.
All his looking for is anybody who is willing to be obedient without question.

What do ya all think of that?

DaddySatyr -> RE: Why is being into "big girls" still considered a fetish? (5/11/2014 2:13:31 AM)

Honestly, I think it's more of society, kissing the collective ass of Madison Avenue and continuing to besmirch ladies who are a more realistic version of beauty than the waif-ish things that look like they need a decent meal more than a man.

Screen captures still RULE! Ya feel me?

This realistic version of beauty is so subjective though. I've seen ads on CL for men specifically only seeking women over 300lbs or something. Those are my idea of chubby chasers. If that is not a fetish I don't know what is that.

Definitely these guys looking for BBWs to queen them and/or sit on them and smother them want a woman as both a fetish object and a kink delivery system. [&o]

P.S. DS, I think you're going to be getting a bunch of messages soon, or at least a lot more profile views. [:)]

Everyone has their own preference. It is almost the same with relativism

CobaltRose -> RE: Why is being into "big girls" still considered a fetish? (5/11/2014 5:37:54 AM)

To me, being too skinny to the point that its unhealthy is the same as being obese in terms of harm it can do to the body.

Greta75 -> RE: Why is being into "big girls" still considered a fetish? (5/11/2014 5:49:54 AM)

And there are fetishes for skinny people, on CL as well, you see ads for women below 90lbs, and breasts smaller than A cup.

FR

IMOSVHOWACherryOT If you have a type you have a fetish.
