...while Barack golfs and gas prices near a six year high:

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/canada-oks-oil-pipeline-pacific-coast

Obama must prefer to see Canada's abundant oil burned in far less efficient Chinese cars and factories, rather than burned cleanly here in the USA.

Also, and at least partially due to higher fuel prices, food prices are also skyrocketing:

With women, children, the elderly, minorities and the poor hardest hit (as always).

Gee thanks Barack

Why the persistent belief that Keystone will do anything for US consumers ?

That oil is going past Okla. and to Houston specifically so it can be refined into gasoline and diesel to be exported and from a federal tax free zone. The US is already the world's top exporter of gasoline. That's what pushes US gas prices up and why we may be approaching a 6 yr. high in price.

Once again, far to many wish to believe the propaganda. The Alaskan pipeline did nothing for US consumers and Keystone will do nothing.

As for the Chinese being the customers, it doesn't matter...anybody will do as long as those products don't remain here.

The more oil production the cheaper the prices, locally and or globally

Flood a market with oil (or anything else) and the price goes down

Russia and China are among those countries that are aggressively pursuing oil everywhere - on the sea bed, in the arctic, you name it. Canada has offered to turn us on, and if we refine it and export it, guess what? We bring dollars home rather than ship them overseas, which is a net win

Fuel prices are almost identical to what they were 3 - 4 years hence.

"Obama must prefer to see Canada's abundant oil burned in far less efficient Chinese cars and factories, rather than burned cleanly here in the USA. "

Huh?

"Also, and at least partially due to higher fuel prices, food prices are also skyrocketing:"

Natural gas, which is a major component of fertilizer, which has been falling for 5 years, incrementally, has lowered the cost of producing food since....easily 2010.

What has Chinese fuel burns go to do with American food costs?

Natural gas has fallen every year (except the last 12 months) for 5 years and is still below the world price by 65%.

Huh?

You're right that natural gas, despite Obama's best efforts to regulate the fracking that has produced it out of existence, has in many ways saved our bacon (so to speak)

Again, despite Obama

Yet, farm tractors don't run on natural gas, tractor trailers and locomotives don't run on natural gas. There are a lot of things we get from oil that make our lives better, help bring the things we need to us and to our tables, which Democrats boisterously oppose that

This is pure unadulterated nutsacker hallucination. We are a net exporter of petroleum, which means we are awash in it. Yet prices continue to spiral upward. Reality once again defeats the imbecilic nutsacker fantasies.

First, for any additional production of oil to increase supply, doesn't require it to go through a pipeline across the US plains to Houston, it can remain the Canadian pipeline with the same effect.

Secondly, there exists no free market in oil as long as OPEC can manipulate supply and it is the speculators that determine the price of all commodities including oil.

Those dollars 'brought home' are oil industry dollars and are not to and do not serve society at all, they are private dollars and are in fact, by exporting these refines products through Houston...are tax free dollars, also not serving society.

There exists no free market on this planet, never was is or will be. No matter how much the free market communists hallucinate about the existence.

The US is the No. 1 gasoline exporter...not oil. The US still cannot export oil, only refined products but in doing so...keeps domestic prices and profits up.

The President has little ability to impact the price of gasoline. There's plenty of shit to pile on Obama, but this isn't one of those turds.

You are really, really reaching here, unless you really don't know that our main refining facilities are down around the Gulf coast area

And you don't have anything thats made of plastic or was shipped around you anywhere. Or anything that requires lubrication like a bicycle, or anything that used petroleum to grow or harvest or manufacture, etc etc etc

And if there is really no free market effect, it must be a mass hallucination that oil prices rose dramatically when the Islamists who Barack said were defeated began assuming control if Iraq

And yeah, dollars brought here help everyone. Nothing occurs in a vacuum, if people have wealth they tend to spend some of it thus creating jobs

Thats the real way to spread the wealth btw. This business of addicting people to government handouts destroys them

It is, of course, hallucination propagated by free market communists to skin more bucks from your wallet. Look around you, how much oil has been lost in the deal? You seeing lines? Is there a shortage? Only shortage is when they want to substantially raise the price, you can buy all the petrol you want, without let or hinderance.

Bullshit

Placing oil fields off limits through executive order, putting off the pipeline decision forever, directing his EPA goons and his IRS goons etc to crack down on every aspect of the energy industry, etc, are but a few of the ways Obama has driven fuel prices (and food prices, and electricity prices etc) to a six year high

LOL. As the nutsackers lower it by naming post offices after Ronald Reagan. Here's the good news, there will be no violation of states rights as nutsackers demand, and we will be charging them for shipping it from our Pacific coast, they get no allie allie in free from the free market communists on that score.

What does our petroleum production look like? Looks like we haven't seen this level of production since the early 1990's.

I think a more damaging impact is the devaluing of the dollar, which has been going on since the Reagan Administration, at least.

Regardless of historic production, when a president or any other entity limits MORE production, prices go or stay higher than they otherwise would. Prices now are higher than they have been many times in the past, and not only have this presidents policies limited production, it is his stated policy to push gasoline prices higher.

Which is hard on the poor, hard on the economy, and causes prices of everything to remain higher than said prices otherwise would, as oil is used to bring us practically everything we use, and in many different ways.

Katrina did a number on the Gulf, true. Still, Conservatives as a rule would rather the nation has the energy it needs to do more than barely survive whereas leftists generally don't care who they hurt, they just want to strictly limit the people and their energy consumption
