So lets get this right, seeing as you say I misrepresent your position.

Obama shouldnt have tried to liberate the Syrian people, but GWB was right to liberate Iraq.

Liberate is far from how things panned out but I am using it since it was the bollocks you used to trot out at the time.

You're claiming that Barack calls them Islamic State Iraq and the Levant...

Because Islamic State is not an Islamic State

You and your little troll friends will post any nonsense [:D]

You are looking stupider by the day, something that I have grown to enjoy.

Do you actually understand what a "state" is ? Take your time before making yourself look any sillier.

Bullying?
Aw, the poor, poor terrorists... [:(]
Excuse me if my heart doesnt bleed for them
Terrorists have attacked us and our interests how many more times than Russia and China combined?
And again, according to many who are quite knowledgeable, ISIS makes al-Qaeda look like a bunch of squeamish girl scouts
Their atrocities are creating a series of massive humanitarian crisis situations wherever they expand to
Quite laughable to see you referring to an Obama appointee as a hawk btw
Had we a hawk in the White House ISIS would never have become a caliphate in the first place

Yeah, because a defense appointee from a Democrat couldn't be a war hawk. [8|]

KYsissy -> RE: IS defies US and executes US journalist (8/22/2014 5:35:52 PM)

Fr
Here is how I see it. It does not matter who is in the Whitehouse. The US is top dog in the worl for now. As such we are the target due to a myriad of real and perceived slights done to various groups around the world. Will there be another major terrorist attack on US soil? I would bet everything I own on it. Odds are the perpetrators are already here working as cab drivers, store clerks or IT professionals. W was the lucky occupant of the whitehouse when the last attack happened. Obama may, or may not be there when the next one happens.

This is the new reality until attention shifts to the next topdog. Will it be Russia? China?
Will it take 50 years? 100 years?

YES WE CAN bomb bomb bomb, bomb Iraq...

BenevolentM -> RE: IS defies US and executes US journalist (8/22/2014 7:43:56 PM)

In World War II it was possible to win the war because we were not fighting an irrational foe. The Germans and the Japanese knew they were defeated and went about the business of rebuilding their nations. Here we are confronted with an irrational foe which means there is no winning there is only oppression where you oppress your opponent and not listen to their whiny BS which our political correctness will not allow us to do. If only we had in hindsight kept Saddam Hussein alive so we could return him to Iraq and make him the conquering hero with U.S. backing. He would know what to do. We, that is the U.S., doesn't know what it is doing. We need a monster like Vlad the Impaler, someone only God could love.

quote:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlad_the_Impaler

... ruling mainly from 1456 to 1462, the period of the incipient Ottoman conquest of the Balkans. His father, Vlad II Dracul, was a member of the Order of the Dragon, which was founded to protect Christianity in Eastern Europe. Vlad III is revered as a folk hero in Romania as well as other parts of Europe for his protection of the Romanian population both south and north of the Danube. A significant number of Romanian and Bulgarian common folk and remaining boyars (nobles) moved north of the Danube to Wallachia, recognized his leadership and settled there following his raids on the Ottomans.

We need to give them what they fear most which is conversion to Christianity.

You see they don't fear being bombed back to ther stone age because it is something they want. What you have to give them is something they don't want. They see us as weak. Our paranoid response to 911 proved it. We responded precisely how our enemy wanted us to respond. We need to speak their language and show them the sort of strength and leadership they are able to respect. Giving grandma a cavity search at the airport is not the way to go about it. It shows that you are weak.

Is it possible that ISIS will burn itself out? The problem with what Bush did is we did not yet have sufficient provocation to enter into the war. Sometimes you must wait and be patient. In order to win the war the war must be real. After 911 what we were fighting was the boogie man. Such a war cannot be won.

What some do not seem to realize is that in time of war your sensibilities must change.

What most actually realize is you are talking bollocks.

The ill thought out notion that carpet bombing Iraq would make everything fine is laughable. We are not fighting as nation, or even as Sanity loves to call terrorists"A state" We are fighting a disparate group, which represents little of the population. The sooner some of you idiots get this, the better.

The only "fundamental" change to the way DC runs was to change which party was running the dog and pony show. The D's oppose Bush to get their person in. The R's will oppose the D President to get their own person in. All that "hope and change" shit was nothing more than rhetoric meant to increase emotional support. When Obama campaigned on "hope and change," "yes, we can," and "fundamentally transform Washington," people like me noted he wasn't actually saying anything specific. He was never pressed for anything beyond those catch phrases.

It was a brilliant strategy, really. Eight years of "Bush BAD," and all you had to do was run on "hope and change" and the other guy was nothing more than Bush III.

In 2012, the media (and people here) didn't let Romney get away with catch phrases and lip service. They pressed him for specifics, completely unlike how they treated Obama in 2008. Anyone who thinks that we left Iraq because Obama was in office is touched in the head. No matter who we elected, we'd have gotten out of Iraq. We'd have gotten bin Laden. We'd have gotten out of Afghanistan.

Nice to see someone speaking out...

ISIS 'betraying' Muslims, says Calgary imam before hunger strike

"I want to create awareness about the nature of their work — they are using Islam, they are quoting Qur'an, they look like Muslims, they pray like Muslims but they are not Muslim. They are deviant people, and they are doing exactly everything which goes against Islam."

Very nice to see. I hope this is but a start to other Muslims standing up to the radicals.

Sanity -> RE: IS defies US and executes US journalist (8/23/2014 11:13:23 AM)

It is good, but excuse me for asking the obvious questions, such as where is the grand coalition of other Islamic states coming together to set things right with the group calling itself Islamic State

If someone writes a book or produces a video against the prophet or Islam itself, we hear about it from more than just one man

When our twin towers were struck many Muslims, no idea the number, danced in the streets

This news is good, there is no denying that. But the reaction among Muslims to a fast growing Islamic State in Iraq and Syria could be far more impressive

Maybe its just me though

Musicmystery -> RE: IS defies US and executes US journalist (8/23/2014 11:17:30 AM)

So did Christians like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, proclaiming the 9/11 attack was God's retribution:

"The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this … I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way—all of them who have tried to secularize America—I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'"

You are really denying that there are differences between the left and the right? Amazing.

And for the most part, "the media" is just an arm of the DNC. Of course they gave the empty suit a pass after skewering W

Dared to land on an aircraft carrier, my god...

And then grilled the Mormon (who once was forced top put a diuretic dog on top of his car during a family trip)

Any mention or criticism of Obamas past was racism though

Brilliant strategy my ass. Its a series of propaganda campaigns, and its older than you and I put together

Thats not exactly dancing in the streets, child. And they were soundly criticized from all around, without any fear whatsoever of their critics losing their heads

Now be quiet, the adults are trying to have a conversation.

Amen.

The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), one the UK’s biggest representative bodies for Muslims in Britain, called the action ‘reprehensible’ and condemned the group’s ‘psychopathic violence’.

“We are horrified at the abhorrent murder of James Foley, a reporter who initially went to the region to expose the human rights abuses of the Syrian regime. ISIS [now the Islamic State] has murdered this man for no reason at all,” an MCB spokesperson said.

“ISIS does not speak for Islam, and has been repudiated by all Muslims. Their message only appeals to those who are easily duped by their twisted message purporting to be Islam. They seek to glamorize their violence, and unfortunately, the media has a part to play in adding to that glamor.”

ElChupa -> RE: IS defies US and executes US journalist (8/23/2014 11:45:06 AM)

The only way to get The Big Zero's attention (that's your Glorious Dear Leader 0bama) is for ISIS to film one of their terrorists cutting the head off a golf club. Pathetic "leadership" in the White House. The damage this creep has done to the USA will take years to untangle. Thanks to millions of moronic voters and a media that is totally in the bucket for the Kenyan/Indonesian socialist. After six years, do you know ANYTHING about this guys background?

No sillier than your belief that the Muslims of the world are coming to get you. Don't forget to check under the bed.

I'd have thought some of you guys would love this group. After all, they're standing up to government with armed force according to what they believe should happen -- including if you kill ours, we kill yours. Isn't that the mantra? What the founding fathers were all about, according to some of you?
