There will always be a small percentage of disgusting and vile people in the world, but empirical evidence clearly shows that the world has slowly become a better place as we move from decade to decade, century to century. It's hard to see that truth when the news is filled with rapes, murders, and terrorist attacks, but it IS the truth, and I invite anybody who thinks otherwise to do some research on the subject. News is filtered to grab attention and sell advertising.

I have NO doubt that the world *can* be better. I simply have skepticism regarding the way in which this is done. Sure, the old farts are stuck in their ways (sorry mom, dad and every other person eligible to be AARP members that I know). But, we're talking here about a video showing predominantly YOUNGER people engaging in this behavior. The stories recounted here have mentioned the same thing. Essentially, we're speaking about the baby boomers being the *grandparents* of the majority of these people. When they die off, how will things change? Apparently, there's a group of 17 year olds in New Hampshire that thinks this is "ok behavior".

In my view, it's not about the old people dying off...it's about the younger generations (mine included) taking RESPONSIBILITY, and teaching kids that this is not OK behavior. It's recognizing that past generations may have "gotten it wrong"...but also, and more importantly, actually DOING SOMETHING about it. As I have mentioned, I believe that most men...shit...most PEOPLE...in this world believe that this is absolutely wrong. So, fucking DO something about it.

When the boomers die off, things will not get better...unless the younger generation actually gets off their ass and DOES something to make it so. It's all well and good to blame them for the ills of the world...but how will YOU make it better?

They think it's ok behavior because they are rewarded for it. When you're 17, there's not a whole lot of consequences for your actions, and there's a whole lot of upside to acting like a douche when it's a proven tactic for getting laid. So do we blame the douche, the girls who enable his behavior by reacting favorably to it, or the parents who raised them all? Do we just blame society at that point? Or do we stop trying to pin blame, and start looking for solutions?

Umm...a little confused here.

I didn't think a "solution" was waiting for the boomers to die...but I could be wrong...

"The baby boomers will eventually die out, and the balance of power will continue to shift to younger generations that are capable of more progressive thinking." -- So, what's your solution? Waiting for these 17 year olds to be old enough to run for Congress? Surely when their grandparents die, things will change...

sissyhypnoslut -> RE: 10 hours of walking in NYC as a woman (11/5/2014 1:24:12 PM)

No the baby boomers dying out is an inevitability, not a solution. It's a moment that will occur at some point in the future on the timeline of global social change. One of many such moments that will occur between now and 100 years from now.

I didn't actually offer any solutions, so how about this:

There are not enough male teachers teaching young children. Young boys spend the majority of their day at school with no male role models to learn behavior from. In order to differentiate themselves and assert their gender, they turn to hyper-aggressive behavior. Men are scared off from the profession and instead choose to teach high school aged students or older because they are at risk of being accused of pedophiles by an understandably sensitive, female-dominated workplace. As a society, we need to encourage men to embrace elements of fatherhood as the defining elements of masculinity, and remove the stigma attached with men taking on these roles.

I have come across crazy situation's myself. When I use to live in Oswego, NY, there was this drunken guy who was saying he was going to throw his girlfriend out the window. The neighbors around were too afraid to confront the guy. He was good size. I was nervous but there was no way I could just sit back and wait for what could have been the worst. I confronted the guy, with a weapon near by and he got all up in my face. He didn't actually do anything but I had to be ready just in case. When I was younger, I did take Martial Art classes. One of the most important thing's my Instructor at the time reminded all of us, was to never use what we learned as a form of bullying. Only to use it in true self defense or if someone is in danger. I've held true to that to this very day. I am still young enough and can move around if I had too. Not everyone can.

On a other tale. When I was at a bar in Oswego (crazy town), this one guy was threatening his girlfriend and was going to hit her. This other guy did step in and told the guy to back down. Well, after that, the girl wind's up slapping the guy who was trying to protect her. That was a cold reality check there too. If a guy is going to step up against the abuse of a female, only to have the woman hit him back and she stays with the abuser, then it make's other guy's second guess if they really should intervene. It's a tough balance and I think the situation depends on what it going on. Me personally, I don't care for fighting. If there's a cop near by or security, then let them handle it. Or if someone else want's to step in, let them. Only in extreme cases who I really step in. Such as I mentioned just now. So, it's up to the person and the situation at hand to make the best decision at the moment.

Nope, no need to go any further... *s*

On a serious note though, the question is "how far does someone go in this situation?". And the answer is, what anyone does is just a "stop gap" measure. Yes, for sure, it may help in a particular situation, but it's not going to change the culture.

You do, as an individual, what you feel is appropriate at the time. Period. No questions.

At the end of it all, you're not changing anything...with the exception of perhaps the particular situation that you are in. No need to second guess, or "feel bad" about it.

Personally I think it has to start with blaming the douche, if they are called out when people see it happen and it becomes a shameful thing to do for them then they will stop (eventually maybe). The trouble is I don't actually want to do that myself because I'm scared of them. And if I'm scared of them, how can I expect other people not to be. It exists because society lets it exist as a whole, men and women. I think it would be mostly pointless criminalising it because how could you police it? it might work in some way as to send a message but I don't think it could really be policed.

I really don't think there are many girls who do react favourably, I think the number that don't far outweighs them. I am annoyed a bit when I see a woman saying they like being treated by strangers in that way, when they are alone and vulnerable especially, but it IS their choice to like it. The rest of us don't get the choice, it just happens to us regardless so I don't think it should be that the men get to choose to do it. I think the blame has to be on the one who is doing it, rather than the one who is reacting to it.

I really don't think this is an age issue either, I think men of all ages do it. I didn't only see young guys in that video, and my own experience of it hasn't just been with teens.

Charles6682 -> RE: 10 hours of walking in NYC as a woman (11/5/2014 2:08:32 PM)

The culture does need to change. No doubt, Women's right's have progressed a lot in the past 50 year's and the result of that is starting to be shown. However, that's not to say there isn't room for improvement. I think Women as a whole, have done wonderful in progressing their cause. I think now it is time for more men to start standing for what's right too. The cultural mentality is the core of the problem and that's what need's to change. There have been some good men who have helped, so a lot has been accomplished. I am certainly grateful for those who paved the path before, so my generation can reap the benefit's for freedom for all. As it continues, my generation must continue that path and also help other in other countries as well. There are still some countries in the World where everyone is not treated equally. It take's effort and constant determination to see these thing's through. For me, the true core issue behind all of this is freedom for all human being's. Human Rights for all is something I take serious.

I think the reason this video is getting debate is because it's feminazi propaganda and it's full of bullshit. If you say "God bless you", "have good day" or "you look sharp" to a guy, it isn't sexual harassment. Say it to a feminazi and you become a star in her youtube harassment video. You all can kiss my chauvinistic ass for even pretending that shit is harassment. Fucking PC idiots with no balls can't think for yourselves swayed by a youtube video that actually proves how men have become milk toast. After 10 hours in a skin tight outfit they can't come up with 2 minutes worth of film? Y'all bunch of sheeple.

At the very most, that video shows a collection of rather polite but slightly sexist influenced compliments paid to a lady with a nice figure in a skin tight outfit. I didn't hear "great tits" or "nice ass" over and over did you? It took 10 hours of that bitch trolling the streets in a skin tight suit to get 2 different guys to tag along with her and actually make unwanted advances. I am sure professional models get tired of hearing they look nice but they don't make a video collection of the compliments and publish it as feminazi propaganda proclaiming harassment. Over half the comments weren't harassment and of the other half, many were just typical compliments some biased by sexism, but not actually harassing, annoying perhaps but not harassment. Next time someone says "God bless you" film it and publish your own harassment video.

Ugh.
The one that said God bless you followed that by walking in step with her for 5 minutes like a psychopath so I don't think that greeting was all together genuine.
And blaming her for her clothes, really? God, victim blaming is still alive and well. She was dressed completely modestly, on purpose too, so people wouldn't be able to say that. It's got fuck all to do with her clothing.

We also dont know that that was the worst of the behaviour, there were 100 instances. I imagine some weren't suitable for YouTube because of language used. I don't KNOW that but you don't either.

The thing is, these guys have only learned one way of interacting with women. They haven't been taught the skills of how to be masculine and attractive to women without being assholes. And even if only 5% of women are into their advances, they can beat those odds with a high volume of attempts. If their "game" didn't work, they wouldn't do it. It works.

Sheeple? Really?

You're not a chauvanist...you're simply disrespectful. Which is FAR worse.

Just because your slut likes to be humiliated and objectified doesn't mean that every woman is, or *should be* that way. Did they not teach you that simple fact in "Dom school"?

Maybe so. And this might sound harsh but it is not my responsibility to teach grown men, grown men I don't even know, how to deal with women. Nor is it the responsibility of those few women who do respond to that type of disrespectful treatment.

OK... so clothes (and figure) don't count eh? Well, here on Earth they do. Seriously, appearance counts.

Put one tight bitch in a bikini and a fat bitch in a tent dress. Drag them through the streets of NYC for 10 hours and tell me they get the same reactions? In fact, fuck those milk toast pussies in NYC. Drag a bitch through a real city like Detroit or East St. Louis. Then you would have get all kinds of profanity and comments about her tits, ass and how they wanna' put it in her...

Tell me clothes have nothing to do with it again, please lend me you infinite knowledge about your planet 'cause if you put white bitch with tits and ass in nice clothes in Detroit, you'd actually have an idea of harassment. Rape and robbery are still considered harassment right? 10 hours.... I think not. Camera stolen, girl raped in the 1st hour.

So that rather soft video full of compliments in the streets of NYC being called harassment cracks me up. I didn't see one guy pull a gun and rape or rob her. For all those nice but unwanted compliments, she should be grateful that NYC is full of pussies. That's not harassment. She got compliments and two rather sketchy unwanted date offers. LMAO. Make that same film in Detroit or East St. Louis and you discover reality and that how you dress makes ALL the difference.
