cloudboy -> Voter Demographics (11/5/2014 6:11:57 PM)

Women, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians vote Democratic. / Whites and men vote Republican.

Those making $50K or less vote Democratic; those making more than $50K vote Republican.

The Republican House: 89 percent of House Republicans are white men; 19 house members are female and 0 (zero) house members are black.

The Democratic House: includes 61 women, 43 African-Americans and six LGBT members

The Senate is 96% white. There are 20 women senators: 16 Democrats and 4 Republicans.

White voters turn out in larger numbers for the mid term elections according to the Washington post.

----

In 1950, 98 percent of House Democrats and 97 percent of House Republicans were white men. In the 64 years since, that share has fallen 51 points for Democrats, but only 8 points for Republicans. Today, all but one of 20 GOP committee chairs in the House are white men (Rep. Candice Miller, who chairs the House Committee on Administration, is the exception). http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/after-the-midterms-the-diversity-gap-in-the-house-will-be-wider-than-ever/

Must be a lot of people making over 50k.
The Republicans gained a couple of women senators and a couple of black Senators this time.
And they got their first black female member of the House.
With blacks voting 80-90% Dem you won't have that many running as Reps which makes it hard to get black Reps to run, let alone get elected.
The black who reached the highest position in the House was J C Watts, who was Rep whip in the 90's.
Your source was clearly wrong, and I am surprised that after the election, when you could be expected to know this you still posted them.
BTW you have your first Rep governor in a very long time.

Most of the nation is white

Most people in politics are men

So what is your race-baiting point

Kinda like Russell Wilson, Republicans arent "black enough" for you

Or is it that certain leftists love nothing more than to foment hate and divisiveness along racial and gender lines, and in any other way possible

Or maybe your point is that many leftists constantly obsess over peoples' skin color *cough RACISTS) cough*

Meet Mia Love btw, Republican Congressman from reddest of red (and my neighboring state) Utah

It's straight facts. The Ferguson Police Department is more racially diverse than than the GOP Congress.

It's hard to see how broader America will ever vote a Republican Candidate into the White House, especially when that candidate will have to pander to the right-wing base.

Sanity -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/5/2014 8:30:10 PM)

The Republicans have won a HUGE House majority, and they just took control of the Senate...

Deep blue state governorships and statehouses fell to Republicans all across the nation...

It was “the worst wall-to-wall, national, unmistakable, unequivocal shellacking that you will ever see”

Yet cloudboys logic tells him, "they could never win the White House"

cloudboy -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/5/2014 8:39:45 PM)

There's nothing to "choke on" but facts. You got a small tent.

Dems would never use a racist term like that.
You know that J C Watts's father virtually disowned him when he became a Republican?

kdsub -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/5/2014 8:51:31 PM)

It is not my responsibility as a white man over 60 making over 50K to vote for a black man or woman simply because of the percent of blacks in the general population. Just as it is not a black man's responsibility to vote for a Hispanic or Asian because of their percent of population.

All our responsibilities should be only to VOTE for who the hell we please... is that not the way and reason for a democracy?

Butch

Not if you are Cloudboy.
A few years ago the Dems (who had total control of the state legislature) gerryamandered a district to assure that Alabama would always have a Black Representative in the (Federal) House of Representatives. The result was a district that had a 60 mile corridor that was only about 10 miles wide.
The second result was that in order to do this they had to move heavily Dem areas into the district. This resulted in them having one less seat than they had before. I wish all gerrymandering worked out as well.

You do realize that if a person understands what they are actually looking at on that map it proves cloudboy's point don't you?

To explain it to you since you clearly don't, the areas Democrats won represent the highest population density areas of the US so by the simple facts of large numbers it is a fact that those areas will be more diverse than the red areas. That fact is backed up by enormous amounts of demographic research so you can whine all you want.

cloudboys' point...?

He was doubting that "a broader America will ever vote a Republican Candidate into the White House"

Which reminds me dk

Congratulations on your new Republican governor

thishereboi -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/6/2014 5:49:44 AM)

Well according to your logic as a women I am going to vote democrat but I am also white so I am going to vote republican. And what is really sad is you will never be able to grasp this. But keep on posting your bigoted little rants. I am sure there are one or two posters here that will just eat it up.

Making shit up again I see.
That was Republicans who did that. The Alabama legislature was controlled by Republicans when the last redistricting was done.

Every excuse in the book [:D]

Leftists just cant face the facts...

This was about Obama and his policies, and it was a huge statement by the nations voters, once in a hundred years huge

And while midterms are admittedly bad for the presidents party (extremely rarely this bad) there is a key difference

When it happens to Republicans, its after our left-of-center media and Hollywood etc had been dogging on the Republican president for several years with the worst propaganda imaginable

When it happens to Democrats, its despite the the same bad actors carrying the Democrats' water for several years

And when it happens to Republicans, all the same propagandists assure us that the Republicans are finished as a viable party
