WTF? Are you saying that blacks haven't voted for whites? This should be hilarious.

Not only is that not what I said but you have to know it.
I said that whites are far more likely to vote for blacks than the other way around.
I also was saying that there are far more cases down here of a white person running against a black than you seem to think.
Maybe that doesn't happen in Chicago, I don't pretend to know all about every place like you do.
I used to live up there, next door to statesville.

Please. Statistically speaking there have been effectively no black candidates at all. So claiming that there have been lots and lots of black candidates for black people to vote for against whites is simply ridiculous.

In what world?
I have voted for several candidates who happened to be black.

So? Do you have any idea how many thousands of white candidates have been on the ballot since blacks gained the vote?

If you think blacks are bigoted and vote that way -- good for you. 220-1 looks fair to you, great.
I don't agree. I think a minority group who has their first chance in 42 tries to elect one of their own takes it. Bonus -- he was superior to Mitt Romney as well -- a corporate takeover specialist, vulture capitalist, and forefather to the Individual Mandate in health care.
That's it, asked and answered.

And wrong. Those numbers are consistent, blacks are, in any race, far less likely to vote for a white than a white is to vote for a black.

Actually wrong. Blacks have consistently voted for whites since there have rarely been any other options on the ballot.

And, you can't count those races, Ken. Come on. If it's not possible to vote for a black person, you can't use that in comparison to see if black voters vote along race lines or not.

Yes it is. They could have not voted at all.

That's still not voting for a black candidate, though.

BamaD -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/8/2014 9:30:36 AM)

So? Do you have any idea how many thousands of white candidates have been on the ballot since blacks gained the vote?

Totally irrelevant.
I didn't say they wouldn't vote for a white candidate, I said they will overwhelmingly vote for a black candidate against a white one.
far more likely to base their vote on race than white voters are.

Musicmystery -> RE: Voter Demographics (11/8/2014 9:35:13 AM)

I don't think the consensus is that it's totally irrelevant, as you've proclaimed.

You might instead attempt constructing a valid case for *why* it isn't relevant.

Because it sure *looks* relevant.

But it does count as them voting for whites.

Which is first off nonsense and not at all what you are claiming in post #86. The fact remains that blacks still voted for whites in all those races where there were no other choices all those thousands of times and that completely destroys the claim you make above.

I'm not misquoting you. You seem to not understand fairly simple mathematics but there is no misquoting. Your words are there for everyone to see. That is why I asked you to quote the passage you thought started this.

You don't grasp the most basic logic. It is a fact that if a black candidate runs against a white candidate the black candidate will get a much larger % of the black vote than the white candidate will get of the white vote. If race is a factor it plays better in the black community than the white. In fact many white voters will vote for a black candidate for fear of being considered as racist.
As far as your absurd claim about the % of women supporting Dems
22% is less than 36% period. It doesn't matter what the gross numbers are it is still a lower %.
