ORIGINAL: Lucylastic Jeff, Ive been following the net neutrality for a long time...Ive posted here about it several times. I know what it is, I know about wheeler, so excuse me if I say Id rather have the pres come out on the side of NN than the shit the rwingers will do. Even with wheelers input. Yeah yeah. The prez is talking in order to try to mollify the younger voter block that he lost totally. But he already cast his vote when he appointed a 30 year industry lobbyist to the position. In other words, Obama already sold us down the river on this one. The Kabuki theater being played out now is a pathetic joke. <snip>A growing source of frustration for White House and congressional Democrats is that they have three of their own on the five-member commission at the FCC, a majority that should give them the power to push through a policy of their liking. But if Wheeler charts a different course, he could bring the other members along with him. And, as Wheeler reminded participants at his meeting with Web companies Monday, the FCC does not answer to the Obama administration. “I am an independent agency,” Wheeler told them repeatedly, according to several officials. And this independence, of course, was unknown to Obama when he appointed Wheeler, right? I'm afraid I can't believe Obama has an IQ below 60. Both Wheeler and the FCC declined to comment for this story. The White House had no additional comment beyond the president’s statement Monday, in which he said the FCC is an independent agency and “ultimately this decision is theirs alone.” Yup... perfectly executed political ploy. He totally sabotages net neutrality tossing pretty much everyone but MSM under the bus in the process and then claims he's on our side --in words only of course -- his deeds speak for themselves. Yeah yeah, Cruz is, of course, a lying asshat. But so is Obama. And this one is yet another thing that cannot be blamed on "republican obstructionism" or any other thing but the deeds of Obama's own hand. What I want is a level playing field on the internet. Sadly, neither the Democrats or Republicans agree with me. That makes sense. A crucial part of any successful police state is control of information sources. The internet is simply too much of a wildcard to be allowed to exist in it's present state.
