ORIGINAL: tweakabelle You seem to be implying that the dead cops are dead as a direct consequence of the "mob calling for dead cops" and/or Shipton's 'incitement'. Is this your position? You obviously see some kind of connection - please spell out exactly what that connection is. And if you are asserting that the dead cops are dead as a direct consequence of the mob's demands and/or Shipton's 'incitement', please offer some supporting evidence in the form of links or rational argument as to why feel the connection you see is valid. Why does it have to be "direct" for there to be a problem Community organizers preaching to the young in their communities that it is not just acceptable but expected to be thuggish criminals... Heroic to be criminal, or to war and rage against society, whatever you want to call it "NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?" the protesters shouted. Seriously - how does this help their communities The police are hunting our children... This cant possibly end well for their community, can it? It seems you are unable or unwilling to detail the connection you see or to supply any credible evidence to support your claim. What is obvious to me, at considerable distance from the issues, is that the Police Depts in several US cities have lost the confidence of the communities they are pledged to serve. Such situations are not brought about by the rhetoric of 'community organisers' or agitators. There are constant complaints of racism and racial profiling coming from the communities concerned. There have been glaring failures by the justice system to meet community expectations. If you want to fix the problem, as opposed to making vacuous political points, perhaps these are areas that ought to be examined and improved. That means listening to disaffected communities instead of making empty charges that only increase their alienation. Ultimately, the problem will only be solved when community expectations and police/justice system performances complement each other.
