Does anyone else find it quite funny when someone does this and thinks that have got one up on you, even when they have obviously read the preview? [sm=applause.gif]

LiveSpark -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 5:44:34 AM)

I do this all the time. I don't think I've "got one up on them" I just can't be bothered with people who 1) send a message that simply reads "Hi" 2) Clearly hasn't read my profile and is a fellow submissive (for example) looking for a dominant. I find that some, especially those in my second example, tend to start a flurry of messages if they see I've read their message so it's just easier to delete the message.

theprlncesslucy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 5:46:19 AM)

I'm talking about people who have sent me a message, I take the time to reply & then they Delete Unread.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 5:50:51 AM)

Was this someone you know or a complete, stranger?

The reason I ask is that there could be a legitimate disconnect between what you're trying to do and what actually happened.

If I go to my mail page and there's an e-mail from someone I don't know, I might hang my mouse pointer over it and do the "preview thing", but, chances are: I'll just click on it.

However, as what just happened recently, I went to my mail page and there was an e-mail from someone whom I would have sworn I had blocked. I didn't bother with the "preview trick" because there's nothing this person could have written that I was going to want to waste my time, reading.

Sometimes, it's tough to know.

I have to be honest, after reading your profile I am not a bit surprised. There are a lot of people who have a real problem with the type of findomme you present. So you have 2 choices, you can accept that this shit is going to happen and ignore them or you can come to the forums and whine like a little girl and let them know that they got to you. Your choice.

Ah okay you weren't clear about that in your first post. Personally I'm not going to take time to wonder about it. Just chalk it up to a moron or someone who changed their mind and move on. There are plenty of people who do want to chat, why waste time with those who don't.

theprlncesslucy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 5:59:51 AM)

No one has got to me, I'm not complaining, and I am not a findomme.

Perhaps there's a content issue.
If it happens once, accident. Twice, coincidence. Thrice and it's time to look in the mirror because the common denominator is you

LiveSpark -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 6:05:11 AM)

It doesn't help that you ask for "tribute" right off the bat. I would do the same if I saw that in a profile. I don't get why anyone would pay to be someone's sub - unless they're going to a pro. This seems to be a female dom thing, never seen this in a male dom profile.

They sent me a message. A reply was issued, asking for money.
They deleted unread after scanning the contents.
Wherein could the problem lie?
I wonder. I do, I do.

theprlncesslucy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 6:48:50 AM)

Incorrect. Well done with your assumptions.

I don't know, asking for too much? Too little? Asking for money? I do however find it hard to believe you ask for money, you don't have to you're the real deal. You're fucking with my head aren't you? Please don't stop!

Grins.
Hey-people reply to my responses!

And I'm a guy. And a dom.
That's two strikes right there yet somehow I manage to struggle through.

I don't assume anything. I work with the info at hand. To think otherwise is, well, to assume.

theprlncesslucy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 6:57:44 AM)

My original post was if anyone finds it amusing, not asking why people do it. But thanks very much for the snide assuming comments. My profile mentions real life meets, not findomming.

LiveSpark -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 7:01:15 AM)

Actually he (and other people) have been giving you straight answers, the decision to take them as snide was yours. So be it but if you post people are going to respond.

Ooooh, touchy touchy.

I never read your profile. Why should I care that much?
I replied based on data posted in comment #8.
You have a problem with that info, take it up with them.

But, so as to not digress and to remain on topic, generally speaking, no, I wouldn't find it amusing. Why would I? I put some thought and effort into that response. I don't like seeing time wasted that I could have better spent elsewhere. I'd see it as a wasted opportunity, as in opportunity cost, not interaction.

Not to mention that it's somewhat rude. it's akin to saying hello to someone, then turning face when they respond.

Upset? Hell no-this is the net. Only fools get emotionally involved in what goes on here. Plus, ya'll just imaginary playthings, chew toys for me to play with to while away hours ;-)

But funny, as in "haha, I find you amusing, Tommy. You're a funny guy"
No

Yes, that's the point I was getting at

FieryOpal -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 7:21:49 AM)

I've only had this happen 2-3 times in over a year. Other than just recently, they were TBNT-Thanks But No Thanks replies which were hoverable, no need to open the message to read what it contained. Sore losers.

The other is somebody I've exchanged messages with in the past briefly (so I wasn't a complete stranger), and I was extending sympathy because I've had a similar tragedy. Evidently, my gesture was unwelcome. Some people are just rude feckwits. Life goes on....

And it's a valid point. Personally I chalk it up to experience and move on. This is the interwebz and people get all kinds of brave and say things they wouldn't face to face. There is also the option to just not respond or - as in this case - delete unread. So if that happens to me I shrug and move on, it's not worth getting upset over.

theprlncesslucy -> RE: Deleted Unread (12/27/2014 7:26:09 AM)

When it's happened to me they are usually people who have tried to convince me to do things I'm not interested in. When they finally realise it's not going to work they delete my reply Unread as if it's a way of them coming out on top.
