ORIGINAL: kdsub Bama whatever the reality of the disposition of any group of people don't you get a kick out of the hypocrisy of some who condemn you for judging Muslims by the actions of a few but turn right around and judge conservatives because of the actions of a few. Butch Ironically, when I checked the current affairs section someone made exactly that accusation in response to my agreeing with someone who said that we have to accept accept the reality that RADICAL MUSLIMS are out to kill us. Conservative Christians are generally safe to hate. There is no government run by Conservative Christians that will call for your execution if you say the wrong thing about their faith. While some Conservative Christians will resort to violent behavior against gays or others they perceive as sinning, such acts are not merely denounced but punished as quickly as possible by the population at large, including other Conservative Christians. There are no special laws or traditions in the homelands of Conservative Christians making it socially hazardous to denounce their entire population for the behaviors of a few. In short, they are safe targets for hatred. Muslims are not. There are Muslim run countries that will specifically call for your death if you criticize it. While there are relatively few Muslims who will resort to violence outside of such calls, the vast majority of Muslims will not criticize such actions in any way, and will actively or passively support them and resist attempts to bring them to justice. And if you dare to criticize Islam for the behavior of its followers, but in active violence and background support for same, you are labeled an Islamophobe and face an ever-escalating set of social stigmas for daring to express this opinion. In short, Muslims are not safe targets for hatred. Hatred or criticism, I should say.
