The USA is always taking the lead against Islamists such as the Taliban, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram and ISIS etc
Muslims need to take responsibility for their medieval Jihadi problem
Own it
Put together a serious world wide organization of Muslims to take on that role instead
Quick strike forces, large armies, law enforcement, and a very public campaign to shame and severely isolate any demented asshole who insists on using bloodthirsty Koranic verses for anything other than toilet paper
Only then can Islam rightfully be referred to as "the religion of peace"

Maybe you missed it. I mean, it has been buried and rarely ever makes any sort of news media (serious, or otherwise), so you might have to dig a little. But, more and more Muslim are coming together to fight ISIS. It's happening already.

But, I can see how you may have missed it. How's your duodenum doing?

My duodenum is in much better shape than your reading comprehension skills are

Again, in all of these actions the USA has to take the lead, primarily

Almost exclusively

Probably because W decided to build the world's largest embassy in the world in Iraq.

Which is because so many people from the US visit there....

...or maybe its the oil and the military strategic value.

Islamists are butchering African villagers because W made them do it

I hope you wash your brain off before putting it back in your head when youre done playing soccer with it

Oh, is the US taking the lead in Africa now?

Do tell. 'Cuz mostly we've been ignoring it.

Why? (1) no oil, (2) no strategic military value.

We're saints.

(3) No government worth supporting... I hope the hell we stay out and let the people and countries in the area sort it out... It seems to me they are heading that way... hoorah hoorah for Obama with sense enough to offer and give requested aid and keep our boys and girls out of it.

Or, we took the lead (yes, I know we weren't exactly chomping at the bit to do so), and Muslim countries are joining in? Yes, we got involved, but to ignore that more and more Muslim countries are joining the fight against ISIS is ignoring reality.

Tweak have you ever heard me say we should support ANY country outside of our boarders? So get off that high horse of yours. I am... Have been... And always will be an isolationist

slvemike4u -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/12/2015 1:09:58 PM)

Come on Butch, that didn't work so well in the first half of the twentieth century and the world has gotten a lot smaller since [:)]

kdsub -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/12/2015 1:53:35 PM)

Mike the only reason it did not work was because we allowed our arm forces to deteriorate... This gave the impression that we were vulnerable.

I understand it is never going to happen... just what I would like to happen. As I've said before we need no resources outside of our boarders to maintain our economy and military. I would buy beer and chips and watch with glee the middle east destroy itself and Europe implode under debt.

I would pull every military resource back to our boarders and maintain them to continue to be the most powerful in the world. I would extend our boarders up through space and demand no foreign military air or spacecraft enter our space and we would do the same.

I would withdraw from the UN and kick their asses out of the country.

Then with the money saved from maintaining bases and being the worlds policeman we could afford replacing our failed infrastructure and provide fee medical care for our citizens. Free education would extend through 5 years of college.

We have found new sources for exotic metals needed in electronics and that was the only resource we were lacking in. We could produce any goods needed and all imports would have tariffs to maintain an advantage of local produced goods.

No US owned company would be allowed to manufacture goods outside our boarders and sell them in the United States.

Finally our tax structure would be changed to consumer based. Any goods bought outside the US boarders would be taxed before they could be brought inside our boarders... There would be no corporate taxes at all unless the profits and goods were moved or sold outside our boarders.

I could not care less about the rest of the world... it would be up to them to protect themselves and maintain their economies. There would be no aid to any country nor interference in the operation of their business. ..I would wish them well and tell them to leave us the hell alone.

Butch

I'd vote for you, in a New York minute.

Ok, I can't go on ignoring this.

Boarders are young people with questionable hair styles and pants half way down their asses who slide around the mountains on big planks of wood.

A country has borders, no a.

Sorry but someone had to mention it

Your post wasn't really focused at all. Too busy counting the corn in your chyme as it travels?

Considering that we aren't fighting Boko Haram, but Muslims are, and that Muslims have been fighting the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan already, what were you talking about? I've said it already that the immolation of the pilot could be that tipping point where Muslims who were content to stand back and disagree with the violent extremist Muslims, finally decide to take action. It's happening to ISIS. This could very well be the start to all the Muslims who have, by voice, opposed the violent extremist Muslim groups, to taking out those groups.

I have decided to add to my rant above...

In the United States... or anyone who converses with a citizen of the United States specifically this one, being a grammar Nazis will be a felony offense. As a penalty they will be tied to a chair bolted to the floor and forced to read all of my posts since 2007.

Just to be sure they read every word there will be a comprehension test they must pass before their release to society if they are still sane....[sm=evil.gif]

I'm not sure how much this matters in a thread with a basic verb tense error in its title.

It's too far gone . . .
