Its a debate DS don't take it personally.

I wouldn't, if I hadn't been told that a couple of the straw-man puppets has taken to calling me sexist. So, you see, it's been MADE personal (and not by me). A pox on their houses.

They don't fucking know me and it's probably why I have them on hide, here, anyway but I won't be called a horrible word like "sexist" and stand mute. Fuck that shit.

MariaB -> RE: The Anti-Anything Crowd (2/19/2015 4:28:49 AM)

Well I don't see your opinion as sexist. Its your opinion based on your moral values and you know what DS? what you say doesn't offend me; perhaps it should but it doesn't :)

It has never been my intent to offend you (or anyone else, really).

I thought this was a place where we discussed ideas. The idea of infidelity was brought up and I added my thoughts. Then, I was vilified.

I think you know that I would use your inbox, if I felt I needed to.

My last two posts were in response to being told that ad hominem attacks had been launched at me by people who know that I don't read their posts so, they feel "safe", taking pot shots. I repeat: A pox on their houses.

GoddessManko -> RE: The Anti-Anything Crowd (2/19/2015 4:37:23 AM)

This was a really good discussion and sorry I missed it in my absence. Here is my personal take.
Before coming to CS I was very much anti pro-Domme myself. I honestly did have the impression these were women turning the lifestyle into a quick buck and the finDommes confused me even further. After speaking with several "subs", I realized many of them were kinksters who didn't understand the actual act of "submission" itself,meaning to relinquish power. I felt that this was due to an external factor, ie proDomme, but no, this is entirely internal with submissive men.
There are some things the M/f dynamic cannot understand on the F/m dynamic because everything changes based on gender alone. You might think I don't know what I'm talking about but I can tell you definitively that submissive men find a way to satiate their desire for service through other ways female friends, an ex, their children or their job. Many of them are not willing to commit to something outside the "status quo" or norm unless they find someone they can truly devote themselves to and even then, they can be dodgey. This leads to a high occurrence of sub frenzy on the male sub side and if you have ever encountered frenzy, it's not pretty. The FinDommes and ProDommes are yes, in my view, doing a service not only to these men who like to keep their lives compartmentalized for the sake of their children/family/professional life but also to the community.
Are sub men truly getting a realistic view of a "relationship", no. But you can bet your ass they are getting the leather clad Barbarella of their dreams. And for some, it's just easier/better that way.
Honestly having an opinion on what other people do (especially when it's safe/sane/consensual) is forcing my opinions and beliefs down someone else's throat. Who decides what is right or wrong except the people within the dynamic? If they're happy then why insert yourself to it? And even further, into a dynamic that might be out of your scope?
I feel that a lot of sub men need to do some soul searching because the fact that they point fingers where it is blatantly obvious where the problem lies is the epitome of irony itself.
I also want to add that if there is deception there is usually reason for it, and some are very good at hiding secrets for years and years. Like Exiled said, you cannot blame the pro for merely doing her job.
Also by absolving sub men of blame like so many of you are eager to do, you are perpetuating what is already a problem on the F/m side, and often without you realizing the psychology behind it.

SinFix -> RE: The Anti-Anything Crowd (2/19/2015 4:47:08 AM)

Goddessmanko, I agree with you for the most part, my knee jerk reaction at first to pro and fin dommes were they are a pox on life, but getting to read the thoughts on several on these forums, my view has completely changed with a new understanding of what they provide..

Daddy, I have much respect for your steadfast stance on things that are "upfront" in your personal code, I may not agree with that stance or even comprehend your adherence to a what I view as a narrow minded refusal to see any other view but you always provide a great foil to the forums with those stances and viewpoints..

You're not one of the people to whom I referred. Although I believe that on this and a couple of other threads, you have been (at least partially) singing someone else's song, I have accorded you the courtesy to which I believe everyone is entitled.

That you don't understand a stance against dishonesty in any form is a shame. I mean that, sincerely.

:-( I can assure you that my thoughts on these boards are my own, the Tyrant does not tell me what I can or cannot say or what to say on here....

I think you misunderstood, Oh I completely get and understand your stance/view on dishonesty, I find it extremely attractive in people even. All I was pointing out is, where does personal responsibility come in with your view of it?

I wasn't absolving the actual cheater. I was disputing the absolution for the facilitator of the cheating. You know the old saw: "All those married men are cheating with someone!"? Yes, they are; morally bankrupt pieces of barely human protoplasm.

To get specific: I never said that a married man that employed the services of a pro-domme wasn't in the wrong. I disputed the pro-domme, getting a pass because she's just a "business" person.

Apparently, others came along to erect straw man arguments so that I could be attacked, personally with words like "sexist" but that was never my point nor my intent (it's why I used myself {a male} in my first example).

You guys are just sickeningly cute, I LOVE IT. And LMAO! @ TNDommeK imitating "The Rock". Meh, I was DEEPLY set in my ways when I got on the site, I never had the opinions or views of others in the lifestyle and had no idea people did it any differently. My long standingD/s relationship was enough proof I need I was doing it right. I guess there really are "50 Shades of Grey". *eyebrow wiggle* (DON'T KEEL ME!)
By the way thanks to Nookie's review, we totally skipped it. It was hilarious because my sub said "yes, I kind of thought it would be exactly that", lmao! Yet he was still willing to go see it anyway, so darn lovable.

Ahhh... ok, I understand now...

On that we can somewhat agree, while in your example I would be more than likely to put both of you in equal blame. With a man going to a pro or even just a mere prostitute, I am a little more forgiving of the prostitute as she is just earning a living but it does not absolve her of all blame.

On a note, when I first joined I was approached by a guy that turns out he was married. Now while I did not condemn him to hell, I did offer up advice on instead of reaching out to random strangers that his needs might just be met by the one he choose to commit to. That if he just started mildly and slowly with a frank discussion on what he enjoyed, she may just be willing to go the route with him. A couple of months later, he contacted me again to thank me for kindly giving him a direction for what he wanted that did not involve cheating and losing what he had truly wanted.

OMG, We are aren't we... That is the only thing he encourages with me, to be more expressive and open, cause I am the most private person put on this planet... So, with his encouragement I have been trying to be more
involved on the boards..

This is what I don't understand. Your promises have nothing to do with me. In fact, they may have nothing to do with my own personal sense of morality or ethics.

I do not put my personal responsibilities on others. If I kiss a boy, and my SO is not happy about it, that boy holds no responsibility, in my view. It's all on me. Even if that boy knows I have an SO, he may not believe the same things I believe or you believe. Why should he have to fit himself to my personal (or your personal) moral culture?

I do not believe morality is absolute.

SinFix -> RE: The Anti-Anything Crowd (2/19/2015 5:39:51 AM)

Nookie, I can agree with you as well. The thing is, morality is a dichotomy. I feel there can never be any absolutes with this seeing as what we have are so many views, beliefs and stances that there can and most likely will be exceptions to the "rule". I am a firm believer in personal responsibility, so much so that for me I never see the other persons involvement in my thoughts, feelings or actions. That I alone am the one responsible for what I think, feel and do.

You don't? If someone lies to you, you're okay with that? You don't EXPECT honesty from people? If you EXPECT honesty from people, you're imposing your moral code on them. And, personally, I'll own that.

I hold people to almost the same standards to which I hold myself. These standards are what I bring to a friendship, business partnership, personal relationship ... I demand them, in return.

If you can honestly tell me that you have absolutely no expectations of others, I would question your own standards.
