Breitbart is a nutsucker slobber blog known for their propaganda and continuous lies. There is no proof.

Of course there is nothing to talk about in the regressive nutsucker education, since they are uneducated, and ineducable.

Known by whom? You and that mouse you keep?

mnottertail -> RE: Progressive Education (5/20/2016 8:28:25 AM)

Everyone but the ineffectual and imbecilic nutsuckers, and that felch you slobber.

mnottertail -> RE: Progressive Education (5/20/2016 8:36:29 AM)

Precisely. imbecilic ineffectual nutsuckers do not know they are imbecilic and ineffectual, but they know they are nutsuckers, occasionally.

"UMass Amherst students throw temper tantrum at free speech event"

quote:

Students at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst set a new high for hysteria Monday night at an event featuring Christina Hoff Sommers, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Steven Crowder

Protesters shouted obscenities in an effort to silence the speakers, saying they espouse "hate speech"

The event was intended to be a forum and discussion about the use of political correctness on campus, but degenerated into a shouting match as protesters sought to drown out the speakers with cries of “hate speech” and, less imaginatively, “fuck you.”

One of the protesters took it upon herself to pass out literature expressing her concern for the “triggering” event, claiming the speakers “all demonstrate either that you don’t give a shit about people’s trauma and pain and think it’s funny to thrust people into states of panic and distress OR that you fundamentally do not understand what a trigger is, what it means to be triggered, and what a trigger warning is meant to prevent.”...

As the speakers walked onto the stage they were greeted with boos and middle fingers from many audience members, to which Steven Crowder graciously responded with a middle finger of his own.

The speakers were constantly interrupted throughout the event by shouts from the audience to “go home” or that “we don’t want you here,”...

When the protester attempts to interrupt Yiannopoulos at the beginning of the video, Hoff Sommers tells her to “calm down, young lady.” Paying no heed, the protester responds with an impassioned “Fuck you! Fuck you!”

Later on, the young lady begins loudly asserting that “hate speech is not welcome here” and demanding that the speakers “keep your hate speech off this campus,” all while insisting that she is the true embodiment of free speech.

Yes - This behaviour was deplorable. I believe that even drooling right-wing fuckwads should be free to spout their drivel.

That said, Christina Hoff Sommers, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Steven Crowder are utter utter fuckwads and the fact that they were on a stage together seems pretty engineered to produce a reaction. The reaction was wrong, but you have to look at these people and the vile shit they spout.

Fuck they're almost as stupid as some of the droolers on this board!!

Oh yes, Hoff Sommers is a fuckwad:

Sommers was born in Petaluma, California, to Dolores and Kenneth Hoff.[7] She earned a BA at New York University in 1971, and a PhD in philosophy from Brandeis University in 1979.[7] From 1978 to 1980, Sommers was an instructor at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. In 1980, she became an assistant professor of philosophy at Clark University, and was promoted to associate professor in 1986. Sommers remained at Clark until 1997, when she became the W.H Brady fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.[7]

Sommers describes "equity feminism" as the struggle based upon "Enlightenment principles of individual justice"[21] for equal legal and civil rights and many of the original goals of the early feminists, as in the first wave of the women's movement. The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy categorizes equity feminism as libertarian or classically liberal.[4] She characterizes "gender feminism" as having "transcended the liberalism" of early feminists so that instead of focusing on rights for all, gender feminists view society through the "sex/gender prism" and focus on recruiting women to join the "struggle against patriarchy".[22] Reason reviewed Who Stole Feminism?: How Women Have Betrayed Women and characterized gender feminism as the action of accenting the differences of genders in order to create what Sommers believes is privilege for women in academia, government, industry, or the advancement of personal agendas.[23][24]

She believes in individual justice and not in gender feminism that creates privilege for women. How deplorable is that? So deplorable we use our "smart" words, like fuckwad, when we discuss her. We certainly shouldn't allow her to speak to students or they might not feel safe.

Ahhh...so it's the speakers' fault? These wanna-be-grown-ups have no responsibility for the level of their reaction?

Funny but somehow, I don't see you being the type to excuse an armed homeowner who's shot an intruder with that same excuse...yes, he shot him but just LOOK at what the intruder was doing. He broke into the gun owner's HOME!

Lucylastic -> RE: Progressive Education (5/20/2016 11:38:31 AM)

are you saying that a speaker saying rape should be legalised isnt responsible for his words? its free speech and that it cant be criticized "freely"

Try building another straw man with the shooting bullshit. By the way, the canadian post needs your attention.

Oh, he's responsible for them. And he's got the right to say it, no matter how wrong-headed it is. Other people have the right to listen to it, whether or not they've paid to hear it. The protestors have every right to criticize it. But...The protestors have NO right to disrupt that speech or prevent others from hearing it.

You..and the person I responded to...don't seem to understand that.
Not do you understand that the level of response by the protestors is all on them...not the speakers.

As for the Canadian post needing my attention...nahhh. But you might want to help nudge them towards this problem, which seems to affect a little higher percentage of the problem than transgender bathroom use. Funny how the paper notes the denial of this due it's being seen as a uniquely American problem.

and by contrast to recent posts:

"High school students defy atheists, recite Lord's Prayer at graduation"

quote:

It was the best kept secret in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Just moments before the graduation ceremony at East Liverpool High School on Sunday, the senior class gathered in a nearby auditorium.

Together, they decided to do something that would make national headlines.

The week before students learned they would no longer be allowed to perform “The Lord’s Prayer” – a graduation tradition dating back some 70 years...

The school district banned the song after the Freedom From Religion Foundation complained that “The Lord’s Prayer” violated the U.S. Constitution and promoted religion.”

Fearing a possible lawsuit, the district dropped the tradition – which seemed to appease the group of perpetually-offended atheists, agnostics and free-thinkers from Wisconsin...

And that brings me back to the senior class – gathered in that room last Sunday. They were lining up to march when some of them began talking about that long time tradition – now outlawed.

“Pretty much everyone was in agreement,” senior Bobby Hill told me.

The graduating class had decided to defy the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

“The class thought it was wrong that we were being forced to remove it,” Bobby said.

Bobby’s father was sitting in the bleachers inside the gymnasium when he received a text message from his son.

“He told me when and how they were going to do it,” Mr. Hill told me. “I was thrilled to find out.”

Just after the valedictorian welcomed the crowd, the seniors stood to their feet and began committing an act of disobedience.

“Our Father which art in Heaven…”

“I was very proud to see the youth, our future leaders, decide to stand up for what they believed in,” Mr. Hill said. “I can’t lie—I teared up.”

It was an emotional moment – a poignant example of Americans standing up for what they know to be true – for what they know to be right.

Meanwhile, back in Wisconsin those meddling menaces from the Freedom From Religion Foundation are muttering under the breath, “Curses, foiled again.”
