The thing, though, is that with Obama as an example of why you don't want someone being President without executive or much political experience, treating the next guy with the same kid gloves is actually worse. It's a "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" thing. I want the media to delve into that today as much as I wanted them to delve into it 8 years ago. I do think Cruz gave valid examples of how his experience is much greater than Obama's when Obama ran for President.

Cruz is damn creepy looking, imo. Gives me the willies.

Well before Sen. Ted Cruz can run for the Oval Office, I need certain things:

1 ) An actual birth certificate
2 ) 17 US Americans that can verify on penalty of death, they were present when Ted was born.
3 ) A video showing either and/or both parents being born in the USA or obtaining their citizenship test before Ted was born.
4 ) That his intelligence level is about that of a Venus fly trap.
5 ) That he doesn't come from Texas. As all the recent presidential hopefuls from that state have been total idiots for twenty years now!
6 ) That he could kiss and hug the Obama kids without a problem. (the Secret Service however might arrest him....)
7 ) Explaining how shutting down the US Government is a good thing for America and a bad thing for her enemies.

After all, if the Tea Party's "Birther Department" can ask silly and stupid shit of President Obama, I think its right for the rest of us to do the same to their favorite candidate. When conservatives and libertarians complain about it, to simply ask them "If it is silly and stupid to do now to Ted Cruz, why was it 'OK" for Obama for a number of yours?".

This guy is a joke. In a CNN/ORC Poll: found Hillary Clinton beating down every conservative and moderate Republican/Tea Partier by a 10-15 point lead. Ted Cruz didnt make it on the list, because no one believes he is a serious candidate. Who would take someone seriously after they tried to bankrupt the nation by defaulting on our outstanding loans, and desire to shutdown the government? No one from the 'Land of the United States of America'.

I suspect that particular comparison & contrast will come up often. I heard him answer it on the Hannity show.

are you saying he was creepy looking on the video in particular, or you just find him that way in general?

I watched a little of marco Rubio today on the five and he said he'll be making an "announcement about something" on april 13th.

last week rand paul said a similar thing on the Kelly file for the 7th.

He is creepy looking in that video. I hadn't really seen him talk or anything before, and I'm going to go out on a very, very short limb, and say that he's likely to be creepy looking to me overall. lol

I haven't watched anything from Rubio. I can't really say much about him.

I like Rand's dad more than I like Rand. Ron was, imo, the most libertarian of libertarians, and I find Rand to be halfway between Libertarian and Republican. I like his "limited government" talk, and that balancing the budget is a priority for him. But, his budgets all increase defense spending while balancing the budget in 5 years, or something like that. Imagine how much quicker the budget would be balanced if we also cut defense spending. The only way to rationalize defense spending increases is by accepting that today's level of defense spending is right, or not high enough already. I do not accept either of those cases.

appearance wise, I can see him wearing a black cape with a red lining spoofing Dracula on an Saturday night live skit....

I like marco Rubio, but he strikes me as too young for the presidency.

I think one of the things that made ron paul so unpalatable for more "mainstream" people was his isolationism and thoughts on the military. maybe some of it was his personality too---he really did come across as kooky. in both of those regards, I can see rand being more popular. I can see him picking up his father's adherents, while at the same time, appealing to the less fringe. I think a strict libertarian type would have really tough time getting elected.

Libertarians:

Against what they are for,
and
For what they are against.

When I listen to Rand Paul, he makes sense about 2/3rds of the time. The first 1/3rd I agree on, the next 1/3rd I disagree on, and the remaining 1/3rd I'm like 'WTF is he babbling about?".

Rand Paul does not have a real chance at the GOP nomination, because his stance on Israel is not 'genuine enough'.

Sadly, I think he'll pick up Ron's adherents because of the lineage, but not the same ideology.

While I agree a strict libertarian would have a really tough time getting elected (can you even imagine how much both parties would be attacking?!?), I find it really disappointing.

I do too a little...id like to see a smaller govt (much more so on the federal side), less laws, and more free market solutions/innovations and that's not likely to happen---especially if we get more democrats running the place.
