Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is facing desertion and misconduct charges. Took long enough. How badly will this hurt Obama? Probably some at least since he traded 5 terrorists for him.

I wouldnt see why, bring him home cuz he was ours, and execute him. Same as spending a billion dollars to prosecute you for stealing a 1 cent stamp.

I am not sure I am understanding your thoughts but desertion and misconduct in front of the enemy is a huge deal in the military.

This is one of Obama’s biggest fuck ups…but… at least it was done openly and he was willing to take the heat. But it is another indicator of his incompetence… I voted for the man, and I think he is a good intentioned man, just a bad President… however certainly better than those running against him.

Ron we saved one life... even if perhaps a worthless one...but we may have allowed an enemy to take many more in return in the future. That is why it has been policy... good policy...not to trade with an enemy. It just encourages future kidnappings.

On top of that some of those we traded were not just common foot soldiers but enemies capable of orchestrating the death of many Americans in the future.

Thank goodness we gave up those five Al Qaeda/Isis officers for this treasonous moron. Now, we can feed and house him for the next few years while those officers can continue to wage war against us and kill our real soldiers, sailors and airmen.

Yeah, I dont see that. These guys are of doubtful provenance, and 10 or more years out of it. They were certainly not prosecutable, nor were they actually accused of crimes. They were just in Gitmo. Anyone has the capability of orchestrating many American deaths in the future, look at W in the past. So even Americans have that ability.

I guess you invade minnesota, I would be going to gitmo too, because i would try and kick you out.

You mean like selling missiles to Iran in exchange for hostages among which was a retired Army Col. and CIA field agent in Lebanon who was then killed anyway ?

Pretty devastating too. Actually, over a year's time the United States shipped Iran 2,004 TOW anti-tank missiles, 120 Hawk anti-aircraft missiles and various missile spare parts. Think they killed anybody ?

Let's keep talk of incompetence (See Geo W. Bush) and the like down seeing as how few presidents have shown much by these terms. And before you even go there and try defend senile old Ronnie...read.....

Wasn't it worth getting him back just so he could face these charges ?

I can't believe I'm hearing law and order conservatives bitching about Obama getting this man back to face the music ?

Would that be the same Obama who praised Bergdahl in the Rose Garden, telling him "we never forgot about you"? The same Obama whose Ambassador , Susan Rice, stated that Bergdahl had served with "honor and distinction"?

Probably....I'm still of the opinion you bring him home and stand him before a court.
Not leave him to the tender mercies of the enemy .
He was there ,he was serving,if something went wrong and he walked away from his post than there are charges for that....but we don't leave him there.That's not us....
