The "climate change as socialist plot" is surely the most absurd claim that's been made in connection with climate change.

All you need to do is ask yourself...

How does "socialism" gain if climate change is a hoax they are pulling off?

How does big energy gain if they can persuade people that it's a hoax?

its hard to believe you are actually asking that question. more regulation, more government control, less private industry, less freedom, and redistribution of wealth is the answer.

its not as if a bunch of socialists are sitting around a room and musing, "hey, I wonder how we can further advance our agenda?" and someone says "I know, lets invent global warming! oh no, wait, I mean climate change! lets invent climate change" and they all rub their hands together in glee and wonder how they can go about marrying the two.

its that the leftists have just latched onto yet another thing to put under their umbrella...and unfortunately, their zealotry gets in the way of sound academic/scientific/ethical practice. that is even evidenced in the premise of your question.

Well... ya know... it's what a rational person would ask.

But since you don't have the vaguest notion of what socialism actually is, it's utterly wasted on you.

It's a pretty well accepted understanding now. A couple of years ago when I noticed it I was considered fringe. But, now it's pretty well understood. If you've never actually seen a news article on it then you seriously aren't worth talking to on the subject. Perhaps you should crawl back in your cave and do some research before you open your mouth. Hey, you might be pleased your fellow travelers have pulled this off.

its increasingly difficult to be civil here when the default responses are pompous insults.

exactly what part of "more regulation, more government control, less private industry, less freedom, and redistribution of wealth" isn't part and parcel of socialism?

It's simple, if you can't control the money you control the energy. You can pick and choose which industry gets energy. You can give waivers, like Obama does now for his Union buddies with Obamacare. You make treaties to pass wealth to undeveloped countries to make things fair for them. I've posted plenty of links here. Crazy is just being hateful if he's unaware. Typical lefty.

They'll both disappear now. Neither will debate. They both only wish to spew hate.

gotta like this too from some of your comrades:

Climate Change and Socialism

quote:

The final point I want to argue in this blog is that this merger of the workers' movement, socialism and the Indigenous rising to protect Mother Earth is at the heart of the transformative struggles…

The governments of Bolivia and Venezuela in particular have given a lead to the left and progressive movement worldwide on why protecting the earth and protecting capitalism are incompatible objects.

and if that's not enough, you know, the pouring water on a rock thing and all...

quote:

By embracing the fight against climate change, we need to explain that this is a fight for a new world that restores the balance between Mother Earth and our needs as a species. Those needs will not be determined by the number of commodities we can consume but by the real needs we have for meaningful work, human relationships not based on exploitation and oppression, cooperation not competition, education for its own sake, creative labour and culture available to all to participate and create.

Marx and Engels called this a society of associated producers where “the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all” –a socialist society .

in an effort to make you better at being liberals, here's the web address for the world socialist website:

http://www.wsws.org/en/

theres a search function there, and "climate change" as a full text search gives 1031 hits.

"climate change" as a keyword gives 101.

maybe they can tell you more about how climate change and socialism are in hand in glove?

Obviously your own knowledge is at the idiot level and any discussion with you is wasted. If you believe otherwise, there's plenty of information above to debate. You can show me that you've got more than hate in you by coming back and discussing what your fellow travelers have stated. You can admit you were wrong but socialism is such a good thing you now are better informed and pleased, you can renounce any knowledge or agreement with your fellow travelers, or pick another tack. This is a debate section. So far all I've seen is that you scoff, dismiss and hurl insults. So far I understand those are the main points of your character.

Oh fuck me! You mean that all of those scientists are members of the "Socialist Project".

Well, that changes everything!

Unless, of course, it turns out that only a tiny minority of them are members of a Socialist political party, cuz then.... well you look stupid.

Hmm.

I know, it's unkind of me to mock your ignorance. I'm not a naturally kind person.

You're still utterly clueless about what "socialism" actually means. I don't anticipate that there will be a time when you realise how foolish you appear when you hurl words that you don't understand around.

You're right, this is meant to be a debate section, not a "make shit up" section.

You and your drooling mouth-breather friends can continue in your ignorance, while resting assured that while I do find it entertaining, I really don't care all that much what you think.

Of course, the moment you're able, perhaps with the help of an adult "helper" to have an adult conversation, I'll be right here, with no recriminations.

Bless your ignorant heart.

There you go! As I suspected. Spew hate instead of debate. Hehe, catchy rhyme. I'll have to remember it. But obviously CML is worthless for anything else. I wonder if he actually understands that spewing hate here doesn't affect me at all, but merely shows inadequacy. Probably not. It's probably his go to reaction.

the social/political persuasion of the "scientists" whose articles are referenced are inconsequential to the relationship between socialism and global, errr, climate change.

and unfortunately, what you've said there bears absolutely no resemblance as a reply to anything that's actually been said.

you also didn't answer my question to you, which is completely germane to the point at hand (never minding what your fellow comrades out there are saying about it themselves).

exactly what part of "more regulation, more government control, less private industry, less freedom, and redistribution of wealth" isn't part and parcel of socialism?

unless you want to try again, I trust a non-biased reader of the interchange wouldn't be putting the "stupid" moniker on my side of the equation.

or maybe you can enlighten us as to exactly what "socialism" is so we can all be on the same page??

Since a lot of your info came from the socialist website and CML is saying we don't know what socialism is. I'd like to know if he says the same about the socialists or if he's just debating as best as he can. Also, since he says I'm so obviously not understanding socialism, perhaps he'll point out exactly what I said that is so obviously ignorant.
