That is not exactly how the DOJ report describes the dead man.

When we watched the video of the police did we see anyone saying stop? No we saw their families there singing along teaching their children the same thing. If you do not see that it is because you don't want to. One is perpetuating an established pattern the other is calling for action in response. So yes there is a slight difference.

Seriously if we consider that no one in authority was interested in the non violence of MLK until the Black Panthers showed up with their guns and suddenly everyone wanted to talk with the "non violent" one.
The U.S. govt spent more than a hundred years trying to murder all of the native Americans. After numerous ass whippins the U.S. sought treaties which they signed with smiles and then failed to honor. The only native Americans that the U.S. sought treaties with had the terms of the treaty dictated by the native Americans, the ones with guns.
The others the U.S. dictated the terms of the treaty.
It would appear that violence is what some understand best. It just seems that the ones in uniform are surprised that those without uniforms are so effective. The police brutalize and murder and cover it up...note the DOJ take over of the LAPD and the soon to happen the take over of the LASO.
Didn't about half of the Ferguson PD get fired? These folks are not choir boys.

Giving BLM much of the power of government behind them, if their crimes are ignored that is the same as government sactions, much like the Klan in the distant past.

... Except, re the former, when it's conducting legitimate protest, which is a central tenet of democracy. Re the latter - except when it's not doing what it's supposed to do - e.g killing black people unnecessarily.

Shutting down speakers with whose views you disagree and blocking critical highways that emergency vehicles rely is not "legitimate protest".
