ORIGINAL: BamaD You are right, of course, taking sides against racist terrorists will only makes things worse, after all the violence in the 60's was caused by people taking sides agaist violent racists like the Klan, if they hadn't things would have been so much better. You remind me of the city council in High Noon. Enough of the cynicism, Bama. I've already said that I'm not on the side of those who threaten to kill police and see all police as the enemy. I don't give a rat's anus what I remind you of: I'm not going to get drawn into a self-defeating and destructive 'You're one side or the other and that's that' - and I'd still advise that nobody else get drawn into that either. Like it or not, there are clearly an awful lot of people who *do* see the police as racist. This means that they're going to see the police, as a group, as treating them - black people - as though they and their lives matter less than whites and the lives of whites. The phrase 'Black Lives Matter' is going to articulate what they feel and it'd be no surprise to me that they'd want to protest under that banner. Hey, I know that there are lots of people who hate cops. The point of this thread is that BLM is feeding that for political gain, and many of the left are manipulating them for their own gains. Not condeming them is the same as those people who, in the 60's, made excuses for the Klan. Face it and deal with it.
