I think on the whole, too many people last night looked small and petty.

The whole thing was designed as a gotcha trap.
People either gave the Dems soundbites to use against the Rep or they would be trashed for not answering the questions. It was carefully crafted to create exactly the opinion you have.

Really? Is that the...BEST...argument you can make for why they all ....SUCKED....?

Frankly if the GOP/TP candidates are ....JUST THAT...scared of questions from moderators; don't bother running for President. As the caliber of questions a US President has to deal with are far tougher!

really have no idea what youre talking about there...

but since you mention "big government", let me add: with little exception, most things in the country get done, and/or get done better, at the state and local level as opposed to the federal. its mind boggling that you liberals just cannot seem to either grasp, or accept that.

Does the size of government determine whether it is a good government or not? Or should it be determine how well our government operates based on how it handles those Americans most at risk? The elderly? The homeless? The starved? The ill? The tired? Those whom no fault of their own endure hardships? The poor? The young?

If we take those US Citizens into accounting on the size of our government's ability to help and keep them safe; then our government is not big enough! One of these days, you'll be in one of those positions. You will receive all the crap you have dished out; and you will not like it for a minute. Most people will not give a shit at your selfish complaints. Because they will remember you were one of 'those people' that tried to undermine things.

The second was much funnier.
Anyone else think that cruz is trying to come across as a very creepy mix of mr rogers and dick cheney?

Hey now, I resemble that remark. Mr. Rodgers is a very nice guy...when he is supposed to be.

Ya'know, the Superslutmonger, leaping tall subs and bar stools...in a single bound.

He was/is nothing like this titivated crew.

I wish the rnc would/could create some structure in which the voting public could easily see the candidates and get some in depth looks at what they believe.

and id love to see a large chart set up with the candidates on the rows and the columns full of the issues, with candidate comments/positions at the intersection.

Both parties, and it would be nice if they could give them truth serum before asking the questions. Of course it wouldn't affect Hillary, I don't think she knows when she is lying.

How about we do that for all Americans and give them a 1000 question examine on the last eight years. The questions will be....VERY...specific. They will not be multiple choice or T/F answers. The question would not be who passes, but whether Republicans fail by more than the Tea Party! Put say, 80 questions on the ACA (80 less correct points for you....).

Most conservatives would fail that due to believing total lies and bullshit as facts. Its 'wrong' for Mrs. Clinton to tell lies, but 'OK' for conservatives to do the same? Your a hypocrite!

I would be more curious of his US Supreme Court pick. But then, I happen to give a damn about my nation and its future. To bad neither of you hold the maturity, intelligence, or educational to handle such concepts....

Fifty interstate highway administrations?
Fifty state nasa programs?
Fifty state armies?
Fifty interstate commerce commissions?
Fifty federal aviation agencies?

Well the real deal all of these things don't go state, is for obvious financial greed. No state FDIC, no state farm subsidies, no state financed TARP's, the federal govt. offering by far the best return on investment to lobbying for tax giveaways.

The capitalist can't enjoy near the socialism of his risk at the state level even though they make every attempt. Stated don't have the money.

Same reason Texas (or any state) wouldn't and Quebec...didn't secede.

How does one hold maturity?

Do you pick up educational by the handle or tail?

Does the twit know how to answer with anything but an Ad Hominem or four? Or perhaps he will just re-write the truth again.

Yeah, but your nation is a very different place. For example, literacy is of great importance to our nation and its future, while it's obviously irrelevant in yours.

I thought Fiorina did better in the first debate than this one. Now I think she's a little too war mongering in her responses to foreign policies. And she frowns too much.

I thought Trump was very consistently Trump. That guy is just what you see is what you get kind of person.

Planned Parenthood is very interesting. All of them are making it sound like, a living and feeling baby was intentionally murdered to have their body parts sold for profit.

Ted Cruz sounds like an infomercial all the way. Also the way he plans to do anything is too aggressive.

I like Ben Carlson. But his a surgeon, so I don't know if that is relevant experience to running a country. But his very likable.

Mike Huckabee is just too christian crazy.

Chris Christie was surprisingly quite reasonable in some of his points of view. But I have a feeling the poor guy's weight is in the way to even have any chance. I don't think America has ever elected an overweight President. I believe appearance does psychologically play a tiny part in how you want the representative of your country to look like.

Kasich seem to be like the nicest guy in the room but also that may come off too soft. I feel like his a man who will bend too much.

Do not like Walker at all. He seem sleazy.

And Jeb Bush I thought did terribly under pressure. He was nervous as hell and I think he failed to address adequately many combative questions.

Whoever else I miss, like Rubio, just didn't make an impression or strike a chord.

I think it's funny how some of them were outrage over dinner for China, when they do owe China alot of money. Surely the least they can do is be a polite host. Personally for me, again the reason why I want a Businessman with a proven track record to get out of debt, is so that they don't have to stay beholden to people they don't like.

But this Iran deal where they allow Iran to check themselves as proof of their compliance, is seriously..., the big WTF, and why would Obama even think this is a great idea?

But CNN host was deliberately trying to make Republicans look bad and encourage infighting among themselves, to show how what they a mess they are. I hope they host a debate between Hillary and Bernie Sanders too, to be fair.

Nothing but softballs and incouragement to trash Republicans. Remember how Crawley lied during the 2012 debate to help Obama?

The US owes China $1.3 trillion. China owes the US $1 trillion.

So net, we owe China $300 billion. Not a whole bunch for a $15 trillion dollar economy with a $3.8 trillion budget.

try to imagine the democratic debate being held on fox...at first blush, it creates a sort of "out of place" or "odd couple" image...

yet at the same time, I like to think that megyn Kelly, brett baier and chris Wallace would do highly commendable jobs, which is something that's not being said of the cnn moderators.

Since I listed just a few things that would not work at the state level how about you give us a list of those that you feel would.

Five presidents have been “obese” according to the BMI. Taft 340#(42.3 on the BMI), Cleveland (34.6), McKinley (31.1), Taylor (30.2), and Teddy Roosevelt (30.2). Bill Clinton was overweight with a BMI of 28.3.Sep 28, 2011

I didn't know much about Florina before this debate, but now I think she is one of the scariest candidates. She seems to like big government just fine as long as Republicans are in charge. She would have us at war with women, potheads, Russia, and half of the Middle East before the midterm. ...And she'd probably sing the praises of limited government every step of the way. No fucking thanks.

Other random observations...

Trump, Carson, and Paul were not only against the Iraq war, but they have the balls (or lack of foresight) to admit it in front of an audience of Republican primary voters.

I could practically hear the quote marks when Jeb said his brother kept our country "safe."

Someone described Trump's hair color as unsavory salmon.
