...Perhaps if everyone, man and woman alike, manned up and used forum tools like the hide button to avoid objectionable people...

That would require a working brain cell [:D]

It has been shown many times that some amongst us only seem to have that working when the topic is going in their direction and bolstering their own (somewhat dubious) posts.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same and at times it appears that some aren't even on the same planet, so they resort to devious tactics to try and win their arguments.

If it takes too much longer to get to ten, I'm going to have to order pizza and beer.

I'm still thinking about the marmite. Does wine or beer go better with marmite I wonder?

Beer, but the resulting butt bubbles are repulsive

In the interests of helping to meet shiftyw's 10-page thread goal, I shall put in my two-cents worth.

@ResidentSadist, you have always impressed us as being confident and secure with yourself and the place you have carved out for yourself in this world, without acting arrogant.
We would even go so far as to say that you are the epitome of "NOT an Asshat Dom," a man of integrity who has a fulfilling life where he does not have to go seeking after high drama, does not try to insert himself into discussions where he has nothing of value to add like some others who are no better than self-aggrandizing attention whores.

For example, there were a couple of threads not long ago dealing with gender supremacy beliefs. One was about whether Male Supremacy could be considered a "legitimate" kink.
A dominant top decided that since she practices Female Supremacy, that any comparison of the obvious danger of harboring a unilateral supremacist belief system that might spill over into adversely affecting others out in the real world, was tantamount to labeling her a White Supremacist [neo-]Nazi.

It would appear that she expected:
(1) For all gender supremacists to jump in there to defend her private dynamic, when it was clear as day that nobody was attacking her for her own supremacist beliefs as confined within her own circle of intimate D/s relationship dynamics--the same pertaining to the OP orgasmdenial12.
(2) That by defending Male Supremacy, this somehow justified practicing Female Supremacy (as if all gender supremacists should support one another, when it was also clear as day that no Male Supremacist would take kindly to a Female Supremacist since they are diametrically opposed belief systems);
(3) And she erroneously presumed that every femdom is also a Female Supremacist like herself;
(4) Consequently, she became bitterly defensive as if this were her own personal battleground where she should emerge as victor.
Exit to imminently forthcoming flounce off the message boards in a huff.

Ok that makes so much more sense now, thank you, re the supremacy thread.
I didnt have a clue .

I've been told that the majority of moderators' time is taken up by forum posters' reports complaining about another poster whose posts or existence has offended them. Mostly men complaining. It's just astounding to me that adults can't manage their own online experiences without stomping their feet and demanding intervention.

I wouldn't say mostly men. There were some fairly contentious male/female pairings in the P&R forum. I will say that female subs managed to get less warnings...not because they were angels, but because they learned how to walk a razor thin line without crossing over. One in particular.

I still think my personal favorite was the woman I removed for trying to sell her breast milk.

She posted the ad, I removed it and told her that she couldn't sell bodily fluids. She reposted if, I removed it. She reposted it, I removed it. Finally, I booted her.

She informed me that since people have golden showers in their profile that selling her breast milk was okay. I tried to explain that having a relationship where bodily fluids are exchanged is not the same thing as a complete stranger selling bodily fluids to another complete stranger.

She told me to fuck off. She had freedom of speech and could post whatever the fuck she wanted to. I explained that it was a private wesbite and that when she became a member she agreed to the rules which included not engaging in certain activities.

She never did grasp the concept. I had informed Support of her profile which was also selling breast milk and they wiped her profile clean. She then sent me a swear filled email telling me that if I didn't back off, both she and her Daddy would close their accounts.

To which I said, "We all have to do what we feel is right." [;)]

Somebody down below is trying to sell her dirty underwear. There's a buyer for most anything, I'd guess.

The dirty underwear thing I had heard of.

And the sharing of breast milk is not unheard of, but usually in the context of an alternative for women who can't breastfeed, and there is some level of regulation and sanitary standards.

But I seriously doubt that is the case with an ad placed on this site. So yeah, that's new to me. Ugh.

@RS

I'll see what I can do to track down the origination, but I don't think I have the clearance (or the technology). Your title change happened some time ago (I can't see by who, it's blank), was changed again, and then got reset not long ago. Very odd. Perhaps with he temporary server move we did a few days back.

@Everyone

All the other tags were never changed in that central time period, and so remained as they were, according to whatever mod came before. Requests can be made through site support to change those to more appropriate tags.

I also don't have access to specific forum/post reports, so I'm not sure what be going on there (if you re reporting things), but you can reach me via support (site help) if there is something truly out-of-bounds.

The forum mod tiers that were mentioned are not something I am familiar with. They don't exist right now, as far as I know.

Regarding MS4S, he has been taken care of. If you stop responding to his threads, he will stop posting. Otherwise, his posts will be allowed when they are not too unintelligible from here on in, and deleted when they add nothing. Before you say they add nothing to the forum as is, look around at how many of you have responded.

If you (general you) want to be an ass to me and come up with weird conspiracy theories, that's cool. I'm an adult, and I use real fabric underwear. However, perhaps you could try assuming the best about me and the team I am trying to assemble, rather than the worst.

Or not. On you, really.

Can you feel the love? I want to thank you for restoring my [Awaiting Approval] tag. Awesome. Nice to see someone at the helm making progress.

I also appreciate that you took the time to read this thread and addressed the questions we have raised, including looking for who was trying to send me a message about being an ass. Explaining the changes in the mod tiers was informative.

I had noticed that MS4S and Lucy were on AA. It seems like you are from support, do you have access to mod forum tools for a ban? That's a shame if not. Being in support can't you IP ban him in the .htaccess file?

All of us love the CollarMe mission to provide a free dating site and open forums. But as LadyPact pointed out, you have been left with big steaming pile. Our membership is riddled with conflicting feelings towards the some of the old mods and the mods before them. There is a history of mistrust and disbelief and it is for good cause. Like banning some of our kinder, helpful and politically correct contributors. Then deleting shit to cover their tracks and/or not logging the bans so no one knew what happened. Kind of like what you are faced with right now in the blank for who changed my forum tag. I am not painting all the old mods with the same brush, but there was enough bad history and drama to skew the ambiance of the forums and many members' attitude.

I hope your understand the previous speculations and conspiracy theories in this thread. They seemed like viable theories because if there are only two or three people involved and we're talking to one of them, for us it didn't appear too hard to sort out. But if the logs are blank, we may never know. You said that was "very odd". Not for us, it's par for the course around here. Unless there is a ghost in the machine, this is yet another incident of breaking the rules, sneaking around to abuse mod powers.

[image]http://residentsadist.com/pics/ghostinmachine.jpg[/image]

I extend my apologies for contributing to and/or providing a platform for the conspiracy theories. Based on your actions and honesty here, I will presume the better of you and the team you are assembling . . . instead of the worst. I hope others will follow suit. I am glad you dropped in to chat with us. It has been a pleasure meeting you. If you find more people like yourself for the team, I can imagine some positive changes as the old stigma fades away.

. . . However, about the use of "real fabric underwear," pics or never happened. Just sayin'.

[:D]

LadyPact -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/27/2015 10:22:54 PM)

RS, this is just an opinion, but I think it's worth sharing. Nobody with Administrative access should be discussing any management type actions with general members. That's part (not all) of what was wrong with the last person running this joint. The minute that somebody starts violating the privacy of individual members by discussing Mod actions with other members, that's a problem right there. Whether somebody is a loved poster or a hated one, they should not be discussed with other forum participants.

On the other hand, Mods have to be able to communicate with other Mods about any administration action that they have to take. Otherwise, all they are going to do is chase their own tails. There's more than one way to do that but I find it highly unlikely that it's all being done off-site.

If tiers or various levels of Administrative access do not exist, I foresee that as a potential problem. What's the person working Support supposed to do the first time somebody creates a forum post with, for example, another poster's real name and/or address? Folks will have to excuse me for chuckling a little bit that, suddenly, nobody has the ability to remove/hide said post. Even worse, what happens when illegal content gets posted to the forum?

angelikaJ -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/28/2015 1:01:57 AM)

Adding another post to help it get to 10+ pages:
I would really like to see the stickies that were deleted from Ask a Mistress restored.
It was really nice to be able to put the links in a reply to a thread or to send them in a PM.
It was a way to give good assistance to posters who were baffled about what they needed to change to get a more positive response from their thread queries and profile.

Edit to add: there may have been a similar FAQ thread in Poly.
It would be nice to see that up again as well.
