Because owning 300+ Wii games is perfectly normal?

Because owning 82 different fishing rods is perfectly normal?

Because owning 437 skeins of yarn is perfectly normal?

Because owning 289 action figures in their packages is normal?

There are these things called "hobbies." And people who do these hobby things tend to collect things related to their hobby.

Really? Mowing down a class room of kids is a 'hobby' to you?

Twit. Have you stopped beating your wife?

What color is the sky in your world?

This from the boy who claims he only offers up facts and arguments, never stooping to 'just personal attacks'.

This is low, you fucking twit.

It is propaganda.

Confusion of correlation and causation
False syllogism
Non sequitur
Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc
Guilt induction
Appeal to emotions
Ad Hominem
Loaded language - specifically redefining words

Are some of the types that the twit used with that statement. I am sure he will answer with psuedo-intellectual bull, spurious rejection of a question, demonization, and more ad hominems. He usually does.

Returning to the topic, some answers to frequently asked questions:

Q: Why do you have all those guns in your house?
A: They would rust outside.

Q: Why all the ammunition? What are you afraid of?
A: Running out of ammo.

Q: How can you keep a gun in a house with children?
A: Where else should I keep the children?

Here's a problem:

In some people's minds "Gun ownership" = "Mental disorder".

And, by axiom, "Mentally ill persons should not own firearms."

Therefore, "All gun owners must be disarmed because they are mentally ill."

Another problem is the governing belief by some that "The mentally ill should not be stigmatized, because Haters Just Hate." Well, to be more accurate, the mentally ill should not be stigmatized . . . unless their illness is hoplophilia.

That is, until they slay a bunch of innocents in a Gun-Free Zone, then... see Problem #1.

Well, to be more accurate, the mentally ill should not be stigmatized . . . unless their illness is hoplophilia.

This is half of the problem with manditory mental health evaluations as Joe porclaimed to be only reasonable.

The other half knows that if he issues a clean bill of health and something happens it will come back to bite him. Thus they will simply disqualify everyone out of self preservation.

That and the fact that if we database the health files and make them accessible (against HIPPA regs), they are going to be hacked. The US Governments cyber-security is pretty much non-existent.

Then there is the sheer insanity of taking a shooting in a gun free zone as a sign we need more gun laws, as though laws were some sort of magic shield that changes reality. Anyone who genuinely thinks that way is still in kindergarten, mentally.

There is difference in opposed to all things guns... and what I believe in... opposed to irresponsible gun owners.

Would you not have to admit with all the accidents.... murderers...and gun crimes of all kinds along with the insane with guns that there is a significant portion of gun owners that are irresponsible and or criminals or nuts?

Can you not see how these irresponsible gun owners are affecting our lives?... We are afraid for our children at school... weary of our surroundings in the mall or at the movies....afraid to walk our streets at night.

Will anything change if we don't do something about it? There are only two ways to solve these problems and they both involve gun laws and restrictions. And they will be coming bet on it. One way is to strictly reduce the number of gun owners and make ownership expensive and time consuming... do you want that... will... do nothing and this is what we will get. The other is to assure gun owners are responsible and the insane will not have access to killing weapons. This will take new and strong laws but they will not impede the ownership of guns by responsible owners.

Which do you want?

I will repeat.

Laws are not magical shields that change reality.

Reality is that criminals do not obey laws.

The irresponsible do not obey laws.

Let's see. . . how many of these mass killings were done by males raised by divorced or never married to the father females? How many inner city killings can we say the same about? Why not ban the ownership of firearms of males raised by never married to the father or divorced mothers?

Really, I have a ten round .45 automatic in my pocket (which by the way I couldn't have bought if I had done time in prison LIAR).

I am pretty sure there are lots of felons who buy guns.

You do know that gun accidents are way down, just heavely publisized.
I never saw a gun safe untill 20 years ago.
I even have one firearm with a built in trigger lock.
Safety awareness is growing, as well as security awareness, the only thing that would slow this down is trying to shove it down peoples throats and brading everyone as irresponsible people who shouldn't own any weapons. Most people would not explain precautions like I did, they would just ignore anything you have to say.

Everything I have read says the founders had the 2nd ammendment forced on them by the slave holders within the ranks of the anti-federalist... I have found nothing in the federalist papers or anything by jay, madison or hamilton to sugest this line of reasoning.

Someone has been pouring shit in your ear....
    Alexander Hamilton:
If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense

    James Madison:
Americans have the right and advantage of being armed ― unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms

    Noah Webster:
Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe

    Thomas Paine:
Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them

    George Mason:
I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people... to disarm the people ― that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them

    Patrick Henry:
The great object is that every man be armed

    Samuel Adams:
The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms

    Thomas Jefferson:
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes

kdsub -> RE: Oregon Shooter had fifteen firearms (10/6/2015 7:10:45 PM)

Aylee... I don't care about the criminals... if gun owners are responsible with strong laws... guns will dry up to the criminal element. I am all for making any gun crime a capital offense... not as a deterrent but to kill the bastards off.

Right now most criminals with guns are killing each other... it is the nuts and accidents from dumb ass owners that are killing the most.

Yeah. That has worked so well with drugs.

It also worked well with alcohol.

And it has worked so well with inner city crime. The Chicago area is pretty much crime-free, right?

Why talk that way when the effectiveness of gun laws are proven all over this world...Guns laws work... we just have to find the right laws that meet our requirements... they will not be perfect but anything is better than what is happening today in our country.

Now tell me how you equate drug laws with the 11 year old boy who two days ago asked an 8 year old girl to play with her puppy... she said no so the boy went home and got his responsible fathers legally purchased 12 gauge shotgun went back and blew the little girls head off.

Are you nuts too?
