It continues to amaze me when people defend one atrocity by pointing out another. Will if they want to justify these Muslim butchers because a nut killed an abortion doctor and call it even Steven then I hope they take a trip to Paris and spout their spiel there... I'm sure it will be accepted with approval.

Butch

It seems to be SOP for too many people.

I am guessing London will be on full alert but the friendly football match with France is still going ahead on Tuesday. After the 2005 London bombings the city was as busy as ever the next day, it was the same during the IRA bombings.

I was on the phone with my dad tonight, talking about the IRA versus ISIS. He was stationed in London in the Met through the worst of the IRA campaigns. 'God', he said, 'ISIS make the IRA look like a bunch of teddy bears'.

Stalin defeated the Japanese ? I had the idea he didn't even declare war on Japan until at least ONE of the A-Bombs had been dropped. I could well be wrong though and would be interested to hear how and where he defeated them.

There is a pretty interesting book "racing the enemy" by tsuyoshi hasegawa. It details how stalin moved troops from the european theater by train in the dark to n.china and engaged the japanese army of over a million men. Killed about a quarter of a million and captured about 7 or 8 hundred thousand. Zhoukhove then landed troops in japan (kurile islands). All of the japs defenses were distributed to repel an attack from the south where the u.s. had planned it's attack. Post war analysis has shown that the amerikan invasion would have failed since we had underestimated japans defensive strength by about half.
Consider if you will that the u.s. bombing of japan had destroyed about 60 cities and more than 25 square miles of tokyo and killed more than a half million people with no effot by the japs to surrender. Terror bombing all durring ww2 was proved to be ineffective. When bomber harris terror bombed germany they did not sue for peace. When the japs terror bombed china and murdered a million non combatants at nanking the chinese did not sue for peace. When the nazis terror bombed england the britts did not sue for peace. The atomic bombs did less damage than the conventional bombing that preceeded it. The japs were faced with surerendering to their traditional enemy russia who they knew would fuck them blind so they chose to surrender to the usa. The first a bomb was dropped about halfway through the russian campagn that lasted only about a month. Clearly the russians killed and captured more japs in a month than the anglo american allies did in 4 years.

Gee, and I thought this sort of thing could not happen in Europe because they have such great gun control laws!

Then that could only be because you're a cretin, JLF! [:)]

No it is because you and your european jackasses keep telling americans that mass shootings and shit only happen in the states because we dont have the same restrictive gun control laws.

Look at every goddamn mother fucking gun control thread on these boards, you are always saying shit like mass shootings etc would not happen if we had the same damn laws as they have in Europe.

Try again.

I agree JLF....... peon is wring and you are not a cretin, you are not smart enough for that. The big difference between the Paris attack and gun deaths in America is as follows. The Paris attack was carried out by terrorists, gun deaths in the US are carried about by gangs or individuals.

You are trying to conflate not just apples and oranges, but apples and your continued bullshit.

First, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, but that is beside the point.

If I may point out, terrorists rarely have pulled off attacks this well timed, indicating these guys had to train somewhere and train hard.

Second, there had to be some form of communication, again indicating a hell of a lot of planning.

And finally, and most importantly, with the gun controls in place in Europe, how the hell did these guys manage to get AK's into the city, deploy and do the damage they did with no one spotting them at all?

Of course, there is now a report that Iran warned the coalition countries fighting ISIS that the attack was coming.

The training is what gets me.

When I was in the army, if we were hitting a structure, we practiced on a mock up of the building we were going to hit. Everything I have read seems to point that the guys hitting the music venue moved in a precise manner (unless the news media is wrong, which it could be) meaning these guys trained on a mock up of the building.

Finally, as I said before, this is not the normal procedure for these guys. Truck bombs, suicide bombers in a night club, bus or crowd yes.

This attack is a deviation from the norm, which, IMO, having both participated in anti terrorist ops in the military as well as helping "friendly" terrorist plan operations, indicates Europe can expect something much bigger.

I hope I'm wrong, but, something just aint right about this.

When I talk of economic sanctions to force change in the Muslim world, as often happens, some idiot brings up past Christian atrocities... why do it? To me the only possible reason is to compare Christian atrocities to Muslim...now what the hell does that have to do with this thread? If Christians were to blow up Meccas and kill millions... would that make these butchers and the religion that spawns them any less guilty?

Butch

I'm not defending the actions of anyone, I'm pointing out your double standard: when a Christian kills an abortion doctor s/he's a nut, but when another nut following a different religion does the same thing everyone practicing that religion is condemned. You have repeatedly placed responsibility for a minute fraction of some group on the entirety of said group, then accuse anyone disagreeing with your views as defending the abhorrent behavior of the minute fraction.

kdsub -> RE: Paris under attack (11/15/2015 5:59:54 PM)

There is no double standard when it comes to this... there is only one...murdering Muslims. If you want to talk about murdering Christians start another thread.

With them or against them, right Butch? Everything is so easy when it's black and white.

kdsub -> RE: Paris under attack (11/15/2015 6:07:19 PM)

Yes... how about you...for them?

If I'm not against the entirety of a given religion then I obviously must be for them, right Butch?

kdsub -> RE: Paris under attack (11/15/2015 6:20:02 PM)

I see... maybe you are just a little for them then... you believe there are reasons to murder men women and children... and cut off the heads of innocents...please tell me I want to understand. I want to know why these butchers are allowed to exist in the Muslim world. Do you think they could exist in the Christian world within the US?

What if Christians decided to take over Missouri and murder and rape non believers... then sent suicide bombers and murders to Canada to kill hundreds... Would Christians of the world tolerate that? Hell no... But Muslims do tolerate and SUPPORT the murderers in Paris... if only in there refusal to excise them from their nations and deny them sanctuary...and NOT ARM and FINANCE them.

The above is the dirty reality of Islam today.

Butch

Dont need another thread it is the same thing murdering muslims or murdering christians. You are a christian so that makes you one of the murdering christians. Now if you aint a murdering christian then muslims are not murders either. You can't have it both ways.

Which them? the "murdring muslims" or the perpetrators of this crime? Are you for the murdering christians? Do you support those who torched the mosque?

kdsub -> RE: Paris under attack (11/15/2015 6:35:57 PM)

Tom... I guess I missed the part where the 128 people murdered were not murdered after all... and damn... I, as a murdering Christian, did not get to join in. Will shit.
