Charlie and Big Ears Billy together would look like the wig-wag-men on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I still think Sneddon takes the prize though. Ugly as a hat full of assholes and had the nerve to be gay.......................now go and take a look at his wife. she was bloody gorgeous !!!!

Do you believe that children should inherit from their ancestors? If you do then why do you not feel that the decendents of slaves should inherit what was stolen from their ancestors?

So we should put them back in huts, at the mercy of tribal chieftans, without medicine or hope for improvement.

Isn't that where they are now?

He has a point there Thompson.............it was their own people or the arabs that usually took them as slaves. The white men bought and transported them and re-sold them, usually to more white men. It seems to beg the questions as to who owes what to who ( I refuse to use 'whom' any more. It's obsolete) and how much is owed to each individual ? How in the name of the million gods could that be calculated ?

He has a point there Thompson.

His hat usually covers it up.

............it was their own people

Their own people...think about that for a minute if you will. If the kiwis took aussie and sold them to the britts...are kiwis and aussies the same? What if it were the french took germans and sold them to the romanians?

As I thought...and noted much earlier...black leaders who disagree with your view on how they should think as being black are condemned by you as Uncle Toms.

They haven't used wig-wag men on carriers since roger ball.

No, it isn't where they are.

Not only is it not true, American blacks live in luxury compared to African blacks but if is was true they would have been restored to what was "stolen" from them.

How exactly do you assess rice, sowel, keys, churchill or obama as black leaders?
Rice was a presidential advisor not a black leader.
Sowell is an economist and not a black leader.
Keys was a diplomat and presidential candidate not a black leader.
Big ears is president and not a black leader.
Churchill is native american and not a black leader.

That shows what I know of naval vessels...................the last U.S. vessel I was on was a submarine and I am pretty sure they didn't have wig-wag men on there. I wouldn't be too sure though. I was drunk at the time and there could have been John Paul Jones on there and I wouldn't have known

I think they spent those generations working for specific owners who sold, resold and sold them again didn't they ? So surely you would have to find the specific descendants who had them doing that work. Then begin calculating what each slave owner's descendent owes to the descendant of each slave. After that, it could get complicated.

The japs had some massive subs that carried aircraft and could launch and recover them.

I'm fairly certain the one I was on was American though. I wasn't THAT drunk. I think.

Extensive records were kept and are extant. The other issue the reparations folks speak to is that the produce of the slaves was taxed and that tax money used for infrastructure thus the demand for reparations beyond the individual since slavery was sanctioned by the governments of the states and the federal government.
One need look no further than nazi germany and the reparations still being paid to the jews from a government and people who were not alive at the time. Just as our decendents will pay the national debt accrued by us.

But surely, the descendants of those slaves have been and are, using that infrastructure and so the debt would be lessened by the amount of use they have put that infrastructure to ?

Perhaps if you went back and read the links I provided it would help.
If you wish to discuss this why have you not done any research re: the issue?
If one really wished to understand the issue it would make sense to consult the primary data don't you think?
I am reminded of a phone conversation between the president and dick gregory durring the watts riots. The president ask gregory what do those people want?. To which gregory responded that he was a rich black man living in colorado and that the president ought to contact the poor black men in california who were burning shit down.

The links provided by different and differing parties on here, remind me very much of the bible as I once read it.................Totally contradictory in many cases. I'm not going to go through and cherry pick the ones I like basically because there seems to be an element of the 'Robin Hood Syndrome" threading through them.
