As for the actual event - I'd rather it was a surprise. *smile* As I am sure it will be.

I have my little tape of things that I have been saving since I was a child that I wish to have roll across my mind if I am graced with a few moments to do so, and that I try to collect whenever I can which symbolizes and represents the most fundamental, elemental, awe-inspiring, beautiful, inspiring, deep, spiritual, cores of what makes life so damn incredible, and our lives such a rich tapestry of experiecne and growth.

If I'm lucky, I'll get to roll that sucker right at the end. *smile*

I don't know that I'd agree that it's the easiest. Seems to take too long. I'd have to say that suffocation would be preferrable to freezing. You only experience a few moments of intense panic before you give in, then you lose conciousness and it's over.

My personal choice between a few moments of intense panic and a few hours of shivering would be the few moments of intense panic. ymmv

Very harsh for the one left - especially if you had been scening - can you imagine the look on the faces " no really, we were just playing -- those welts from the caning I had just given her have nothing to do with her death - honest!!!!"

Have also lost a sub in similar manner - massive stroke - thankfully, we had not yet started playing for the evening so no embarrassing questions from ambulance personnel or hospital staff ("well uh those ligature marks on her wrists, well ummmm you see she consented to me handcuffing her to the bed and ummm oh hell I invoke my 5th amendment rights and I want a lawyer")

But I'll take most any thing other than the way my parents died: old, minds long gone, wheezing their last breaths in a hospital bed before pneumonia finally took them to everlasting peace. At least I hope they are at peace.
