I would like to point out that shooting to wound means you are not in fear for your life and that will get you arrested and jailed.

I would like to point out that you are full of shit. Where do you get this moronic shit? Why does being in fear for my life require me to shoot to kill? The law is quite specific that you are only allowed to use the amount of force necessary to protect yourself.

If you are going to shoot an attacker, you need to shoot to kill.

That would be your peurile opinion.
Now can we take this back to the original thread and stop the hijack of this one?

As you're "timing" to take a shot only a fool would make, the attacker is getting closer to you.

The closer he gets the easier the shot.

It's a "damn good bet" to get yourself killed, which is also what any CCW instructor would tell you after he laughs at you.

Can we end this hijack and take this back to the thread you took it from?

I suppose its only consistent since I loathe their social/political/religious worldviews

The party that you do not support believes in the social contract.
The party that you do not support believe in the constitution.
The party that you do not support are primarily christian.
Why is it that you loath the constitution and christians?

that I should also find their views on self defense absurd.

Perhaps because you are a cowardly punk who desires to murder someone and is seeking a legal fiction to get away with it?

Seems the founders didn't agree with you.

The second Militia Act, passed May 8, 1792, conscripted every "free able-bodied white male citizen" between the ages of 18 and 45 into a local militia company. (This was later expanded to all males, regardless of race, between the ages 18-54)

"every citizen, ...shall within six months thereafter, provide himself..." with a musket, bayonet and belt, two spare flints, a cartridge box with 24 bullets, and a knapsack.[5]

And according to US code 311 - still in force

No it is not. It was superseded by the dick act.

For the attacker or for you? I assume for the attacker as you have yet to demonstrate any ability to properly handle a firearm let alone shoot.

Sure, we can stop talking about your inability to do the things you insisted you could do.

Incorrect. California, Texas, and Arizona FFLs (among others) were forced, by the ATF, to allow people to purchase guns.

Good try in blaming Arizona while conveniently ignoring California, though.

He

A. Igonres that he brought the subject into the thread.
and
B. That ATF forced dealers to allow the guns to walk even though the dealers reported the problem to them.
C. That Fast and Furious came on the heals of claims by Hillary that gun crime in Mexico were because of American gun laws, based of course on a study that was flawed.
D. Said study said that of the FIREARMS CHECKED FOR POINT OF ORIGIN the vast majority came from the US. All this means that of the firearms of unkown origin from outside Mexico came from the US.
E. Several Congressmen had laws prepared for when the government tracked the guns they allowed to walk.
F. The plan was screwed up when
1. Whistleblowers blew the lid off
and
2. At least one of the dealers taped ATF insisting on him selling the guns even though it was clearly illegal.

Liar...I showed you where the thread got hijacked by imfaz in post #98

quote:

While you're here you can show off your foot shooting technique as my offer still stands:

B. That ATF forced dealers to allow the guns to walk even though the dealers reported the problem to them.

The cites provided shows it was the arizona doj that refused to prosecute...so you are lying once again

The sites posted show that it was the arizona doj that refused to prosecute and you pointed out that it is not against the law in arizona.

Good try in blaming Arizona while conveniently ignoring California, though.

You have yet to produce any evidence of that.

They took it from the indians, that gives them a greater claim than we have?
It was 170 years ago, live with it.

By your "logic" the English have greater claim to the East Coast than we do.

You left out that government caused all the tracking markings on some guns to be filed off.
So you're left with the very real question - why would the government forse gun shops to let untraceable guns into the hands of cartels.

The other thing you left off was that when this story first broke, the Obama administration attempted to pin the blame on one of the big gun dealerships.
Until he whipped out the papperwork where he had forced the agent in charge to sign, date and notarize the order by the administration.

Because that one smart cookie, when faced with a prosecution that would have resulted in the confiscation of his business and jail time, forced the administration to put an illegal order into writing.

Funny how liberals leave that part of the story out, eh...

funny how nutsuckers leave off the part of the story where they did it before the Obama administration, and it was nutsucker appointees still in there that carried it over.

Ah yes, once again the myth that this happened under Linebacker.
It ignores the fact that Linebacker was canceled when they couldn't get cooperation from the Mexicans and when Fast and Furious was started they
A already knew this
and
B didn't even try to stop the guns.

Did "it" before obama. Yeah, tracking guns was done before, and resulted more than 440 arrests.

Allowing guns to walk without tracking; filing off the tracking information; lying to congress; holding the Attorney General in contempt of congress for demonstrably lying to congress;

yeah, that wasn't done before.
