Both men and women are accused of double standards.

I was texting with a woman and she wanted to know how tall I was. I told her 6'. She said that is acceptable. She is 5' 11" so she only wants to date men who are 6' or taller.

I asked her how much does she weigh? She said, "What!?"
I told her when she gets on the scale, what is the digital number that appears?

She told me I'm rude and shallow - what does weight have anything to do with anything?
I told her I'm fit so I want to only date fit women. She then cussed me out.

Women are sensitive about their weight especially if they are feeling not at their best.
Nothing wrong with being picky. Better luck next time.

And once again, another rant about overweight women.

Both men and women can be sensitive about their height, especially if they are feeling not at their best.

And once again, trolling the posts to make negative comments on any subject matter that you don't like.

Orrrrrr.....dating men shorter than her has lead to awkward and uncomfortable situations so she is opting to avoid that.

Men tend to be very fragile when they are shorter than their dates. Something about being emasculated, blah, blah, blah. I'm sure you're familiar with that feeling so the fact that she was trying to avoid damaging your already fragile ego was very thoughtful of her.

On the plus note, you can use that date money to buy some more shakeology. It's a win!

I used to know this gal. Every guy's dream. She was roughly 5'11". Bisexual. Blonde. Built for speed.

She had two rules about her dating/sexual life. One was, all of the men had to be at least six feet tall. She used to joke about it. She, literally used to tell men "you must be this tall to ride this ride".

Wanted absolutely nothing to do with bisexual men. Not bi-curious. Not even hetero-flexible. If she even thought you looked at another guy's cock, she wouldn't touch you to scratch you.

Double standard? Absolutely. But, she had the goods and most men couldn't pass the test.

Count me guilty too. Though I prefer to look it as Ying&Yang, I'm a big, ugly dom so I need a small, pretty sub to even things out ^_~

I guess that is true but honestly I didn't even think about height. Height was never s major factor to me.

So what's the problem with someone else applying a similar double standard?

You make yourself out to sound like you're some perfect male specimen - I bet you have a big moley-wart with hairs growing out of it somewhere on your face.

NOW THATS THE IMPORTANT SHIT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND ANSWERED!

Somewhere on this forum, long long ago, I had a thread (under what pseudonym, I don't remember) I started where I was only asking whether women prefer men taller or not, and the answer was invariably that they do (not surprisingly) prefer taller, almost exclusively.

That just is the way it is.

It was that way before any of us were born. It will be that way long after we're all gone.

I don't have a thread on whether men prefer their ladies curvier than they are though ... so maybe I've been slacking off in my intellectual pursuits...

From me? None. Personally, I have to go with a person can have any dating preferences that they want. At the same time, if a person is going to have a rigid preference, they also have to accept that it may reduce the number of folks in the dating pool.

Reduces the dating pool to nearly zilch though.

You claim to be a fitness trainer and you go by weight and height? How ridiculous, don't you know that muscle is so much heavier than fat?

Btw what if she would have asked for IQ and turned you down?

Yup, this makes sense to me. I think that at different times both men and women are accused of double standards.

One thing that strikes me is that you could read this as "all men" and "all women" which in this sense is probably fair. You could also read it as a claim that they are accused of double standards by everyone - which wouldn't make much sense.

When people say "women are X" or "men are X" they're walking into something of a dead end, since generalisations can often turn out to be pretty foolish.

But, on the face of it at least, I can't disagree with your top level statement.

quote:

Both men and women are sensitive about their weight, especially if they are feeling not at their best.
Both men and women can be sensitive about their height, especially if they are feeling not at their best.

This is also true, provided that it's read as "both some men and some women..."

I, for example, am not particularly sensitive about either of those things.

So, to your specific case. Yes, it seems that you've encountered someone who has double standards. But I'm sure that you wouldn't be so stupid as to conclude that all women would react in the same way.
