Status: offline 		Is incredible that anyone could use the death of a three year old boy in a cartoon.

The magazine is a disgrace to itself and to free speech. Free speech is precious but not as precious as a young boys life.

I think in this case free speech worked well in showing the "artist" as a real asshole with a compassion bypass

Status: offline 		I read that one possible interpretation of this particular cartoon was actually an anti-racist one: that the cartoonist was satirising society's tendency to demonise any Muslim at the drop of a hat - on that it had only recently seen as an 'angel'. That's plausible, to me - though I'm a long way from convinced. Whatever - it was a mistake.

I agree with this.

But I also agree that that cartoon was completely unfair and unnecessary, I like their Muhammad cartoon, but this one is really unnecessary and in bad taste. I would personally demand all the refugees convert out of Islam if they want to come in, and be educated in values in accordance to the country they are gonna be settled in.

I believe that 3 yr old can be rehabilitated and not turn into an extremist. We just need people to stop being Muslims. Fortunately, being a Muslim is something you can change, since it's just an extreme negative set of beliefs inspired by an uneducated war mongering warlord. And NOT a race! People can change their beliefs.

It would be racist to assume that someone born in a mainly Islamic country is going to grow up to be a rapist, would it not? And what has cowardice got to do with it? Have you won some medal for bravery for your views here on Collarchat that I don't know about? And what has Pakistan got to do with it, either?

I despise everything they stand for. I find it distasteful that they should use the death of a child.

That said.

I despite the idea of hate speech restrictions and find it antithetical to free speech. So I never would have bought one and I would ordinarily look forward to the day it ceases publication.

But these guys had the balls to stand up to muslim extremists - and for that reason I'm willing to overlook a lot of poor taste.

I will admit that math and science are not my strongest subjects. Especially math!

But your point is pointless since, if any countries unfairly drop a bomb into another country, what happens is world war. So for any country to want to start a world war, where every country has to start picking a side, is not in the best interest for any countries, including Islamic countries. They would be doing something detrimental to themselves. This is why, they suicide bomb through small terrorist groups and fund them from behind.

As long as we are clear, under my "nazi dictatorship", muslim kids will be educated in all other religions and told Islam is a false peaceful religion and they can choose to migrate to any of the more peaceful ones. Or be an atheist and just follow their conscience. I am all for the eradication of Islamic beliefs. Muslims will no longer exists when all converts out of Islam. All they need to do is change their beliefs! I would be best friends with Atheist Arab people!

100% of Muslims countries in the world criminalise the conversion of a Muslim into a non-Muslim ya know. Why are you guys supporting this imprisonment?

Many islamic societies teach that women who appear in public without a hijab (or greater covering) and without a man, who express opinions, drive and/or take jobs are virtually prostitutes and hence fair game for men to take sexual advantage of, hence the New Year's Eve assaults. Charlie Hebdo has pointed out that the young boy might have grown up with those views, so while his death is a great tragedy, the corruption of his mind would also have been a tragedy.

The OP might not like the way it was pointed out, but he hasn't commented on the actual issue. I am upset about the poor, drowned boy, but several years ago I discovered an after-school islamic class of 20 or so children seated on the floor in a circle with a bearded man talking to them. I am sorry for them too.
