ORIGINAL: Greta75 If I can just dump dirty plates with all the gunk into a dishwasher, I might consider getting one! Mine does that. I've got a garbage disposal built in, so it chops up all the little food bits so they can go down the drain. It also has a sensor that can tell how dirty the dishes are, and so it will clean until they're completely clean, no more, no less. Sometimes it's done in 40 minutes, sometimes it takes a few hours, depending on how clean the dishes are when going in. I've got separate jets in the back for extra dirty pots and pans, so unless the bottom is really burned, it gets those extra clean too (although you have to put them in backwards, which is weird in the beginning). I never do dishes, I never rinse anything. About the only thing I do is dump left over food off the plate, and I don't really need to do that either, the dishwasher could take care of it if I didn't. I just don't like letting it, because it would take too long (because of the sensor) and wastes too much water (although this thing is super high energy efficient too, and uses far less water than my previous dishwasher, or hand-washing, because it's got some fancy filter and pump or something and cleans, and reuses its own water). Most expensive appliance I've ever bought, but I love my dishwasher... I hate doing dishes. In fact, I hate doing dishes so much that I don't buy kitchen gear/plates/pans unless they're dishwasher safe. I turned down an antique set of silverware my grandmother would have left me, because it couldn't go in the dishwasher. My sister, who happily babies it, has it instead.
