I'm guessing his degree is not in science. It's probably a degree in the environment, like women's studies. Four years of koolaid and you come out to be a government regulator.

Someone said, earlier and on another thread, that at least political correctness hasn't invaded the science departments in universities. I'm afraid I can't agree with that. Political correctness has determined that they only need the science that proves their theories and the rest should be ignored. So I'm afraid any answer you received would probably proudly respond that it was their business and he is not an exception.

I know in general the science departments are the least likely to have fallen prey to the increasing advance of leftism in higher education, but alas yes, I suspect cracks have appeared all over and they are influenced/pressured by that also.

Climate science is almost entirely agenda driven these days - only a few good schools looking at actual data. Georgia Tech. Alabama. MIT to some degree.
