Perhaps, although the smart ones would case the house first and make sure the owner is not there and would have some knowledge that there's something valuable worth stealing. Most of the home invasion robberies are related to drug dealing - those who have some idea that they're going to be able to get cash or drugs - something of value. Few people will go into a house blind just to steal a TV or computer, since those get very little in resale.

Other than that, it would have to do with some personal squabble, like if someone chooses to be an "asshole neighbor" which abound out there. The kind of people who are so belligerent that they go around looking for the slightest pretext to complain about some petty thing. They're the ones who have to have guns in the house because they go around deliberately pissing people off.

Well, that makes sense, although the Witnesses are pacifists, so they can be run off with a few warning shots. Or, just make them think you're a Devil-worshiper, and they'll even warn the Mormons, Baptists, and other door-to-door proselytizers to stay way. They never mess with the Devil.

Once when my g/f and I were busy doing the bounce there was a knock at the door, so she put on a robe and answered the door only to find several j/w seeking to tell her the word...she dropped the robe and leaned against the door jamb and said "please do go on". They excused themselves and never came back.

But if someone uninvited did get into my house I currently have easy access to loaded weapons in 3 rooms and if I lived in town I probably would not keep my mosin nagant loaded because if I had to shoot someone with that it would pass thru him/her and wouldn't stop until it hit something pretty substantial.

I too have a moat...but alas living in the desert I have no water for it so I put a few pigs in it. That way they always have shade and while I have seen a pig destroy some pretty sturdy fences I have never seen a pig climb a 10' vertical wall.

Your pat assumptions about well - everything are ridiculous. I had 4 murders within two blocks, in a two week period. I've had two home invasions.

If a nutsucker needs 12 or 15 rounds to hit someone, they should be shot themselves as a waste of American fuckin oxygen. Those pro mag fucking 15 round things are scrap, barely work with a kimber, or any other 1911 model, you can work on them and get them to fire about half or 3/4 of the rounds out of a kimber but thats about the best I have seen. You know of a company that makes one that works for a kimber? or a colt? or a ruger? or any 1911?

Libs logic would be shoot one, plant one, done.
