I think you're taking a satirical maeme and trying to give it a serious analysis. But by all means, carry on Mr Nutsucker liberal.

A 'conservative' answer would show that they are full of shit, there aint 12 bangs. Dont know their ass from a hole in the ground, let alone guns.

Except if you knew your ass from a hole in the ground there is such a thing as a 15 round single column magazine for the 1911.

And apparently a 'liberal' answer would be. Bang! drops mic..............

Yeah, that sounds like lib logic to me. Carry around a microphone with amplification. They could scare 'em to death.

If a nutsucker needs 12 or 15 rounds to hit someone, they should be shot themselves as a waste of American fuckin oxygen. Those pro mag fucking 15 round things are scrap, barely work with a kimber, or any other 1911 model, you can work on them and get them to fire about half or 3/4 of the rounds out of a kimber but thats about the best I have seen. You know of a company that makes one that works for a kimber? or a colt? or a ruger? or any 1911?

Libs logic would be shoot one, plant one, done.

I'm talking about government mags. They were also made for 10 rounds and they function perfectly in everything I've tried except that Chinese Norinco 1911 junk.

Lib logic would be more like "oh please, oh please, oh please don't hurt us, I'll do anything you say".

government mags are 10 even on the modernized 1911s used by special forces.

You dont get 12 bangs, and you are running some horseshit about those 15 rounders at me, remember?

Never was there a 15 round govt mag for a govt 45.

so. #epic #fail on your smears. You proved innumeracy though.

Sorry but I happen to own 2 government surplus 15 round 1911 mags. I also have a government 10 round mag. I picked them up at a gun show around 20 years ago. They were fairly inexpensive as I recall.

What is fsn ?

I looked up the pro mags. They're not the same as what I have. The pro mags have a base plate. Mine are identical to the standard government mags except the length of course.

In my search I found references to 20, 30 and also a 1911 drum magazine. Who knew ? I couldn't find a picture of them. The search kept taking me 'round and 'round to more searches.

I'm going to say that I'm 95% certain the ones I have are government. I could be wrong but they do in fact function.

Federal Stock Number, or if they are newer, National Stock Number.
1005-00-550-8694

Looks like that and it will be 11 long if a FSN and 13 if a NSN. stamped on the metal.

you are 100% wrong that they are govt. the standard was 7 and the mods were 10 and if there is no fsn stamped on them, they are some other make.

those 20, 30 mags and 50 drums were for the thompson, M1, M1A1, and M1928.

FR

Was it dcnovice who coined the law, peculiar to CM's P and R forum, that no matter what the subject *starts* to be about, it always ends up, eventually, to be about guns?

Actually, it's 1004-00-550-8594, Ron - unless, of course, you're talking about the German-fluted version.

Yeah, whatever Peon thinks.

ETA: And yes Mnott, I'll dig them out and take a look. As I recall, most of the stuff on this guy's table was military surplus. Of course, my 20 year old recollections on those sorts of details aren't what they used to be. Everyone else who has seen them including me thinks the mags are surplus too.

He's making a joke, he's from England. (which is a joke in and of itself, unless you are from Barcelona)

You'd be surprised how often that works. Everybody's intimidated by German technology (that's been true since WW2), and nobody really knows what 'fluted' means. I certainly don't, anyway.

Just keep using that term whenever these discussions come up and eventually you'll use it in its proper context

It has no proper context, lovmuffin. I made it up and it's completely meaningless.

You should read Stephen Potter's 'Oneupmanship' for further edification.

And always remember: 'Where equal mind and conquest, equal go'.

If the discussion of gun barrels comes up then start throwing out the term "fluted". It might fit in.
