No, no confusion on my part. You are the one who is confused.

Alright darling, what is the difference?

A native American is a member of the first group of immigrants to North America.
A true American is a INDIVIDUAL who believes in the ideals of the U S.
As I pointed out earlier if you think it can be applied to all of any group you don't understand the question.

It is an individual prespective not a group trait.

A You don't know that the "native Americans" came across the land bridge from Russia?
B No it isn't
C I apply Native Americans as a group because it is a racial designation.
I have at no point applied true Americans to any group because it is a matter of individual values. I know people from a variety of groups whom I would consider to be true American. I also know people from those same groups who would not fit that description. I know of no group, all of which is or isn't made up only of true Americans or of "useful idiots".

Where's the confusion? The natives were there first.

Ah, a right leaning draft-dodger.

PeonForHer -> RE: True American ? What is a 'true' American ? (5/28/2016 4:42:49 AM)

What gets me about John Wayne being put up as the archetypical 'True American' is that he's actually known for *acting as* - that is, pretending to be - a True American. I mean, massive irony, isn't it?

WhoreMods -> RE: True American ? What is a 'true' American ? (5/28/2016 4:46:06 AM)

As I said, he's also known as a draft dodger. That seems to have inspired a lot of the Republican party and their apologists, doesn't it?

Very interesting read alright. It's very plausible but however in my mind...it doesn't matter. There is no such person as a 'true American.' It is in fact semantic vanity. A specious form of self-flattery.

The very thought that there is a true or untrue or false American would be antithetical to our originating ideals. The only overriding factor in the so-called American experiment,. the experiment in self govt. i.e., is the concept of government rule at the consent of the governed.

What spurs our cynicism is that who we vote seems not to matter, to make no real difference and for almost 40 years that the vote has become increasingly meaningless. So the feeling becomes that we are governed not by ourselves but by those we can't influence or seek influence for their own purposes...counter purposes to the people at large.

This will remain and increase unless and until voter turnout probably needs to double. Our condition will not likely change without a constitutional convention.

The constitution giveth and the elected malarkey taketh away, well once they drove the Native Americans to the precipice of extinction

Many Americans embody king of the monkey people (from 16 candiates was it?) and the fact he is going to fix America with things and stuff and crazy glue.

Surprised he hasn’t pointed his figure and declared Hilary a feeble minded women drunk on her unbalanced hormones. – or did he use that, whence he was running, on smart ass interviewers, who tried to besmirch his monkey like intelligence And they used the commie line on sanders poor poor Bernie and I liked him. Hmm not sure the heretic line would work on HiIlary I think he would be better pointing a finger at the women scorned and calling her a witchee.
who the hell is zach Johnson or john jackson and wasn't that an episode of Futurama where Nixon romped home - that is who he reminds me off, just with less brains

Hillary Clinton is too old to have any hormones. But she is still a dangerous sneaky bitch and should never be put in a position of power.

T^T

You could say the same about Flump. He'd have better hair if he still had hormones.

Actually, I have it on good authority that all men have the same amount of testosterone, some of them just use it to grow hair....what an ignorant moron...and proud of it.

"FDA issues warning on men's testosterone drugs

03/03/15 12:10 PM ET
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Food and Drug Administration is warning about the overuse of testosterone-boosting drugs taken by millions of U.S. men, saying the popular treatments have never been proven safe or effective for treating common signs of aging like low libido and fatigue.
The agency says drug makers must clarify that their drugs are only approved to treat low testosterone levels caused by disease or injury, not general aging. Additionally, the FDA warned Tuesday that the drugs can increase the risk of heart attack and said drug makers must add that information to their warning labels.
The federal rebuke comes after years of industry marketing for new pills, patches, gels and injections that promise relief from low testosterone or "Low-T." The advertising blitz has pushed sales of testosterone drugs to over $2 billion."

So apparently there is no real fix for age-related "low-T," only a vigorous and virile marketing campaign.

The fossil record says otherwise, but you've never been one to let facts bother you any, so I'm sure you'll ignore that.

No actually, I don't "know" that, and neither do you. In fact, there is quite a lively debate regarding that theory amongst the relevant scientific communities.
