I don't have to be an expert on everything American, since I am not born there or raised there, or went to schools there. But I read more about your country than you read about other countries political system and politics I bet.

To expect every foreigner in the world to know all the precise details on exactly black history month entails is arrogant of you.

It's like me expecting you to know precisely what happens in Qing Ming month in chinese countries.

After all, you are saying this whole month is specifically dedicated to celebrate black people culture right? So exactly what do you guys do to celebrate it as a nation?

Whew! No. My Italian heritage hailed primarily from the Abruzzi region (Dad) and my Mom's half came from Northern Italy. I've never researched more specifically where, but that's for before heading over to explore.

Italian-American, you say? Can you share how you pronounce "mozzarella?" Because I keep getting shit about dropping the last syllable. :) (And prosciutto. And ricotta.) Google tells me its a regional thing for Italian-Americans. I only know that's how I've always heard them pronounced.

My grandparents used to speak Italian around the table, but never taught it to us. They seemed to like being able to talk without us knowing what they were saying.

My family has never dropped the last syllable. The only differences I notice is using a long O in mozzarella, rolling the R in prosciutto, and ricotta is pronounced ree*COE*tah.

But, other than holiday greetings, there is little Italian spoken in my family.
