The retirement thing (if that is included in with welfare payments for the statistics) is definitely a good point, but I'm a bit dubious that everybody goes south to retire. Aren't parts of the midwest and north California (not that far north, but definitely north of Florida) stuffed with retirement villages? What about Colarado and New Jersey?

It is about FEDERAL money accepted so yes that would be counted.

What kind of hellhole do you have to live in to think that NJ is a great place to retire.

So why is it full of coffin dodgers, then?

They must be New Yorkers who must thing they are in paradise because the have moved to the south, and because they are dumb enough to think everyone in the south still has outdoor plumbing.

WhoreMods -> RE: "If you think that living in the South means you are on welfare....You could be a Koolaide drinker " (6/9/2016 1:23:53 PM)

So nobody in the States has a private pension? It's only the eeevil Federal government that provides a pension plan?

I didn't say anything like that. You knew that but you are distorting my statement. But every person getting SS counts toward the federal expense. The point that was being made was that the number of retirees in the south distorts those figures.

The point being made is only lying nutsuckerism, SS does not count towards southern welfare patients.

Not social security nutsucker welfare patients. Nutsuckers are the cause of taxes, they are a pestilence to America.

Of course private pensions do not count. But there are people getting six grand a month from the government. Not sure how they managed that but it is SS, pension fro the military and then the post office or something like that. Too many people like that will certainly skew the numbers.

mnottertail -> RE: "If you think that living in the South means you are on welfare....You could be a Koolaide drinker " (6/9/2016 2:43:22 PM)

Nope.

You have absolutely no proof, no data, no breakdown of that. The links I am showing are not showing that as federal dependence.

Welfare patients.

I'm sure they would, but just how many retired military personnel and post office workers are there? Are you sure that there's going to be enough of them to skew the results all that much?

Well not only is this full of presumptions and prejudice but red states lead the nation in food stamps use. HERE

im sorry, that statement is essentially meaningless. which way a particular state goes in a presidential election--or if there is some other way to determine "red" or "blue"---has absolutely nothing to do with the demographics of who actually receives government assistance in the guise of food stamps.

the question has to be answered on that level.

ive seen the data before, and if I remember rightly, there are a surprising number of republicans on food stamps, but there is a small majority of democrats.

in any event, here's the most recent raw data by states:

http://www.fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/pd/29SNAPcurrPP.pdf

I haven't done all the addition, but a cursory view appears to show the blue states (as per the last election) receive most food stamps on the individual level.

California, florida, new York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, ohio and Michigan are 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 in the top ten usage. only three red states are in the top ten, texas, Georgia and north Carolina at 2, 7 and 9 respectively.

pretty much the top ten's numbers, tower over the remaining states. for instance it would take anywhere from 10-20 other states to meet California and florida combined totals.

"If you think that living in the South means you are on welfare....You could be a Koolaide drinker "

That is not my saying but let's address it. First of all, in the red states, which is what the liberals really mean, they cite the money in and out of the federal government. Well first if all did you ever hear of anyone going up north to retire ?

I have claimed, and I believe I am right, that when liberals say the red states get more from the feds than the blue states they forgot to mention that these states are where people go to retire. I cannot prove it, but nobody can disprove it, I assert that their social security they collect is included in the total numbers. I KNOW about statistics ad how they can lie. Those people worked for every fucking dime of that money.

And even if that is not true, the retirees have displaced taxpayers in a few areas of Florida for example. That in and of itself could allow the spinsters to be able to claim that. They buy the land and the houses with money they EARNED and collect their SS and retire, and liberals call that welfare, when most of them have never done an honest day's work n their life.

Liberal's leader, the only paying job he had was "community organizer", as a lawyer I doubt he defended one drunk driver. I guess I could be wrong but if he was a lawyer of note I think we would have heard about it, and heard about it, and heard about it. Why didn't we ? The answer is obvious.

Remember those kids getting caught cheating on their tests at Harvard a few years ago ? What happened to them ? Does anyone know ? Does anyone even remember the scandal about it ? Does anyone even remember the incident ? And does anyone know what happened to them ?

Were they kicked out ? Were they flunked and had to pay tuition for another year at least ? Or did absolutely nothing happen to them because they are in a privileged class ?

What do you think ?

And remember, this is one of the two or three major schools all of our politicians come out of. Allowed to cheat ?

Five different numbers for the unemployment rate, enough public ire that someone invited to a press conference says "I can't eat an ipad". (that gets you thrown out)

These people are out of hand. We have no redress of our grievances, in Venezfuckingwela you used to be able to go out in the street, like every third Tuesday or some sit and talk to the President of the country. Chavez would come out in public.

Last guy who did that in the US was JFK and you know what happened to him.

T^T

Statistics never lie.

(Statisticians.....however......do).

made a typo I couldn't get back in time to fix.

ohio is 8 and nc is 9.

while im here, the demographics from the last presidential election are interesting to look at:

T^T

Two ways feds can get 6 grand a month. They were under the old CS system (civil service) managed to get a salary of $9,000/mo and retired after 30 years. (awarding them 2/3 of their last and highest salary) OR they managed a $12,000/mo salary (true, there are only a few of those) and stayed only 20 years. (they get 1/2) Plus, this system of fed retirement gets raises every year...or almost every year. I personally knew a man who worked at CIA for 30 years and began retirement at $5,000/mo. So with raises over the years, it could easily reach $6,000.

High ranking military after 20 years get many $1.000's per month. (an admiral I knew started at $5,000/mo. over 30 years ago) The above federal pensions and private pensions high enough are all taxed by the feds and contribute to the amount sent to the feds in these numbers being sited.
