If you see the yellow and red flags up on the beaches here, combined with these funny signs in about 4 languages ( French, German, Japanese and Mandarin as well as English) that drop very subtle hints like "NO SWIMMING ALLOWED", it's usually NOT because the water is polluted; it's usually because the water/surf is too rough or there might be shark or stinging jellyfish out there. We also have those signs near water-holes in the northern part of the country and they usually mean Crocs................Me ? I have an arrangement with all of those creatures that if they don't come in my pub, I won't venture in their water. So far we have both kept to our sides of the bargain but regardless, when a sign says "NO SWIMMING ALLOWED", I would have thought it was pretty unambiguous greta. What it actually means though is "NO SWIMMING ALLOWED" ...........after that, your on your own.
