I totally disagree, because places like Disney, they are responsible for making sure the place is safe for kids to roam. Nobody goes to Universal Studios or Disneyland THINKS of researching for wild predators roaming in that area! I don't believe you for a minute IF you ever for example go Hong Kong Disneyland and you will automatically and common sensely start googling for "Dangerous predators in Hong Kong Disneyland" before your visit? You think your train of though and precaution would automatically expect Hong Kong's Disneyland to have wild life predator when it's a kiddy place?

No swimming to me, means the water is unsafe for mouth contact. Like we have beaches with "No Swimming", actually our signs are more idiot proof than no swimming. The one in the beaches explain there are harmful bacteria in the water, that could make you sick.

Most no Swimming signs are at our reservoir but that's for hygiene reasons as that's our drinking water.

It certainly doesn't mean, dangerous animals lurking around. IF there are, they would mentioned it.

Not all countries signages the same, so tourist should not be expected to understand general signages ESPECIALLY in tourist destinations.

Honestly, there are gonna ignorant tourists. And those tourist are even American Tourists from another state that is ignorant about how Alligators work clearly like in this case and how they can crawl into a man made beach through canals and things like that! And if RS says alligators crawl under cars, that means, they actually go on land too? It's still a beach for children to play in on the sand! Made for that! And if those alligators are capable of crawling towards land. They should definitely have Alligators signs!

It wouldn't kill Disney to put alligator signs on the beach where it's meant for children to play!

Yea, but even some fishes without legs can go on land, like mud skippers?

So how do I know what exactly are the habits of a typical alligator. Like maybe they are like turtles who prefer to stay inside water most of the time, unless giving birth to babies.

I read that they are not sure if they have the correct gator or not. They have captured some, but they are going to compare bite marks to identify the correct one.

And the boys body was found entirely intact. Preliminary report is that he died from drowning, not from being eaten.

I think the parents have a fair lawsuit. I wonder since the kid did not swim at all, would the "No Swimming" sign considered a good enough sign in court.

Seriously, look at the this sign at the Grand Floridan Resort. THIS is what Disney should have had!! If other resorts can put out proper signages. Why can't Disney? (PS: Being ignorant about places in Florida, I didn't know this is also owned by Disney but this MAKES IT WORST! They put proper sign on other waters near their resorts but NOT on their man made beach, WTF!)





The Grand Floridian is the name of the hotel AT DISNEY where this all took place. But thanks for proving that they did have some signs warning people. Such a shame the parents didn't see this.
