Telescopes are used for hunting..

Yup, made for murder! Hunting is really a unnecessary sport in this modern world.
And any guns can be used for target shooting.

Depends on the range you are shooting at now doesn't it.
If it weren't for hunters animals would starve.
What do you call it when preditors are killig your livestock?
Just because you can fire clear across your country doesn't make the whole world like that.

Hunting is a necessary sport in many states. In Wisconsin there are 25,000 to 30,000 deer / car collisions every year costing millions in property damage and serious injuries. The deer harvest in our 2015 hunt totaled just over 309,000. Without that yearly hunting season, our state would be over run with deer.

The New York Times quotes both President Obama and the minister who organized the Dallas protest condemning the killings. But I wasn't able to copy and paste the text.

I don't attempt to speak for others here.
People spend night and day, typing crazy or outrageous shit on here.
I'm telling you as a Black woman, how I feel.
Let the nuts carry on, you can't control what people say on the Internet.
Why bother?

And I wasn't accusing one of the people saying that, but a state Governor is not a crazy on the internet, and he was fanning the fires of violence.
I assume you realize that with my linkage I was pointing out the absudity of both positions.

Why is there a problem? According to you, people carrying guns solves everything, so since everyone is armed, it's all good, right? We certainly don't want to prevent crimes! The horror of that! So now that they committed one, our existing laws can be put into action.

I mean, that's your position essentially, isn't it?

As long as we're passing out ridiculous characterizations . . .

Marini -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/8/2016 7:13:30 AM)

Thanks Kirata, for making me feel great about not being on twitter.

I agree with the statement made by President Obama.
This is horrific, and incidents like Dallas, will hardly improve racial tensions.

RIP to the officers in Dallas that were murdered.

FR -

Then there are the these folks -

DALLAS (AP) - 1:20 p.m.

A Texas Republican blames the words and actions of President Barack Obama and other prominent leaders for contributing to the deadly violence that occurred between police and individuals in Dallas.

Rep. Roger Williams said in a statement Friday that the "spread of misinformation and constant instigation by prominent leaders, including our president, have contributed to the modern day hostility we are witnessing between the police and those they serve."

The shooting late Thursday left five police officers dead and seven wounded. Two civilians were also hurt.

Williams' statement contrasts with the somber tone on the House floor and the effort by Republicans and Democrats to speak with one voice against the violence.

WASHINGTON (AP) - 11:45 a.m.

A former Illinois congressman is standing by a Twitter post he sent after the fatal shooting of police officers in Dallas in which he warned President Barack Obama to "Watch out."

Joe Walsh told The Associated Press on Friday that he didn't intend to incite violence against Obama or anyone else. He says, "that's just stupid" and "would be wrong and reprehensible."

The one-term Republican congressman and radio host from suburban Chicago posted the tweet after five police officers were killed and seven wounded during a protest of fatal shootings by police in Louisiana and Minnesota.

His tweet read: "This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you."

The post has been deleted.

Meanwhile in Tennessee....

Authorities: Highway gunman motivated by police shootings

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) -- A man accused of shooting indiscriminately at passing cars and police on a Tennessee highway told investigators he was angry about police violence against African-Americans, authorities said Friday. One woman died and three others, including one police officer, were injured in the rampage . . . All those shot were white, police confirmed.

I just heard on the news, that the Dallas police force used a robot to deliver a bomb that killed the shooting suspect.
They are said to be the first to use a robot lethally.
Fascinating, a bomb robot.

Spokesmen for the police department states "that we won't descend into a dystopian robotic police state."
The police will only use robots like this in extreme situations.

Like when they have a dangerous infant and are all out of flash bangs?

Like when they have a no-knock warrant on the wrong house?

Like during a high-speed car chase? Just kidding on that one. That is what drones are for.

Let's just say I am not comfortable with this escalation in tactics by LE.

Many of the possibilities don't give me the warm fuzzies either.
In this case, it seemed to be warranted.

Surplus military gear would have done the same and a lot cheaper...but the Justice department put a stop to that... They could have used a $300 weapon to kill that animal... instead they had to destroy a device that most likely cost the tax payers thousands.

Oh, I'm sure they'll only use it in dangerous situations. Like when a black man is in handcuffs and breathes the wrong way.

Gives Awareness a kiss on the cheek, if Kaliko lets me.
