Ambush attacks on police in Texas, Missouri, Tennesse, and Georgia, anyone still want to claim cops aren't being targeted.

mnottertail -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/9/2016 9:58:01 AM)

How stupid are you?
If they were being "targeted" wouldn't it be the actual cops with whom these folks have issues? This seems more like random retaliation. You being a mensa eligible protector of pizza boys should have spotted that.
Jesus you are phoquig stupid.[8|]

KenDckey -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/9/2016 6:36:05 PM)

What really concerns me the most is the use of a drone (A land, sea, or air vehicle that is remotely or automatically controlled. See also remotely piloted vehicle; unmanned aerial vehicle.) to resolve the issue. Yes, it is, at least in my opinion much cheaper than a human life, but now the presidence is set for the use of drones directed towards civilians. There have been, and probably will continue to be, deaths of civilians during the fog of war. However, this is the first use of drones directed toward a civilian target. I do like the idea that at least no one other than the target was in the line of fire this time, but now the door is open for future such events.

So now you are afraid the "bad guy" will use drones too?

kdsub -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/9/2016 7:28:59 PM)

Ken this is a legitimate concern but it is a little late. The proliferation of military style weapons on the streets means that law enforcement has little choice but to compete in the arms race. The type weapons this man had access to should have invoked in you the same concern when they were legalized....Too damn late now!

Nope Didn't say that. Besides it would never happen would it?

Termyn8or -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/9/2016 8:47:27 PM)

Some guy and his son, I think in Texas but not sure, got busted for flying a drone that was fitted with a firearm and a flamethrower. I doubt the flamethrower was very good because it could only carry so much fuel. It was in suburbia somewhere I think and they did not get charged because it never left their property.

But that was a different story.

My opinion, if it stays on your property and only kills on your property everyone should have one. Other people have pit bulls or other junkyard dogs, these would be more fun. Don't fly it over your neighbor's place, that is his space. But then again on some Saturday night when you all are drinking maybe have a war.

I imagine in the best case scenario is is damn hard to hit a target from a drone. But try having a drone war. Maybe that will be the new craze in this country.

See if you can find robot wars on PBS. If you are interested in this type of shit I bet you will like it if you can find it. they had kids (relative term of course) build robots that could destroy or incapacitate other robots. They had big arms that flipped the other over, rams, projectiles and all kinds of shit. It was decades ago back when we still had education though ad it might not be available anymore. Sorry, I am not looking.

If you go back to that thread, I posted the links to both the videos. It may be the last post of the thread right now. I would post the link here but I'm on my phone right now and it's a hassle.

So Dallas Shooter was super military trained and all, and honed his skills personally further. It really shows! In the videos! He was super pro! Too bad his the bad guy now, but he seemed like a good soldier. I mean, whatever he did, was what you see in movies, 1 guy, go in and take down ALOT of people, who are trained crime fighters. I often wondered how realistic these things are but now, I see real footage of how he did it, it's so plausible! I read that some of the techniques he was using was special force level. How to cause alot of damage but avoid damage to yourself in a shoot out.

I didn't like that he used his skills to kill innocent good guys, but damn, he was impressive. The fact that the police who outnumbered him by alot and had their own weapons too, had to take him down with a dronebomb, speaks volumes to how good he was!

There's nothing impressive about shooting fish in a barrel.

Kirata, initially I was super confused why the Media keeps saying it's snipers. Then you watch the videos that ordinary witnesses are posting. He was charging up to them, and shooting them in their face, upfront. There was like 3 police men shooting at him, and he still manage to charge up to one who was stand alone and shoot him right at his chest, close up, gun touching chest, he was doing upfront, charging, dodging bullets from the police who were outnumbering him.
It was no fish in the barrel.
He knew exactly what he was doing, he was calm, his movement was calm and precised. He was a deadly good shooter! They wouldn't use a bombdrone unless they knew this guy is truly skilled and they couldn't take him out, despite outnumbering him in a shoot out, he was dodging bullets fantastically.
Then now I am hearing his using this antique gun. That has only 10 bullets, anyway I know nothing about guns but IF he was using a old fashioned gun with old technology, his shooting needs to be super precision to hit so well.

I know, nobody likes to make a hero out of a cold blooded murderer, but he was once one of the good guys and fought terrorists on the side of the US. Just that, he decided to take justice upon his own hands due to the whole racial issues. And as I said, good to have soldiers like him on your team. And not against you! Waste of talent!

Pretty hard to miss at that range don't you think?

The ballistic vests worn by street cops won't stop a round from an AK (earlier reports that the weapon was an SKS appear to be false) and a handgun isn't much use against a sniper firing from a distance with a scoped rifle.

Well I'm prepared to stand corrected, but I'd like to see those videos. I've only seen one where a cop was shot at close range at street level before the shooter entered the structure he reportedly fired from, and a witness reported hearing one or two shots followed by a pause before the sustained shooting commenced, which fits that scenario.

Hey, give you folks something to really make you think.

When the pictures of the slain Dallas police officers were shown to the people who organized the march, every one of the dead were well known to these folks.

Well known because each of the dead officers were always present to protect the marchers, help clear the streets to avoid possible confrontations, and supportive of the movement.

Alexander and Torres had been so busy talking all day that they did not even see the photos of the officers who were shot. A reporter showed him photos of the officers, each a new revelation. Patrick Zamarripa: “I seen him.” Lorne Ahrens: “He was the one leading in the front. I know him. Sad.” Michael Krol: “I’ve seen him, too.” Michael Smith: “He’s out there all the time.” Brent Thompson: “Yeah. Him.”

The shooter did more damage than he might have planned.

jlf1961 -> RE: Breaking News in Dallas (7/10/2016 10:42:27 AM)

For the record, standard issue military body armor does not stop an AK round, hence the reason why so many of our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq were purchasing body armor that would with their own money.

Why do you keep calling Jesus stupid ? If what I heard about him is right I think he was quite intelligent, and a prophet if I accept that. Not so sure.

You need a comma right after the word "Jesus" to properly express what I am pretty sure you are trying to, in the English language in print.

If I have any of this wrong let me know.
