I have requested multiple appointments with the VA. I broke my insulin on my way to Phoenix from out here in cooler country up in the high desert and Luke AFB refused to see me. I didn't live close enough to suit them for care. I got hurt in Mississippi and went to Keesler AFB for care because it was like 10 miles away (the closest civ hospital was farther). They refused to see me because I lived in Arizona. I have been to Nellis AFB when visiting Vegas (slightly over 100 miles from where I live) and they refused to see me because I live in Arizona (Luke is 150 miles away and is the closest military installation in AZ).

Medicare even harasses me over my wheelchair because I have to prove every 6 months that I need it. That includes a 100 mile round trip to a doc to get the paperwork updated.

Just some examples.

VSO and Stand downs, hit the ombudsman But dont whine about the air force, as you know they are not a real service. Of course you are a civilian now, and could have said, I want to talk to the chickenshit colonel or the Briggie bait that runs this motherfucker, now hweres the news...............and so on, because you know that aint law, thats guys trying to get good numbers, Say, isn't John McCain down there in AZ? You don't have the phone number of one of his aides? You better believe I got mine.

But you were at these places since 1987 looking to get in?

What scam? What pay? I do get my retainer fee as SCOTUS puts it. I do get my SS reduced as the people direct (I don't agree that it should be since I paid into it, but it is the will of the people through their elected representatives). So what scam are you refering to?

I am not a fan of John McCain at all but the story has been told many times that Hanoi offered him an early release because he was an Admiral's son; he allegedly refused and stay until all were released. Does anyone know if that is only "hero mythology?" It is also said he was beaten severely and often. He cannot raise his arms to this day. So, my question is does anyone know if that is all an invented story? If you have a link to document it, let me know please.

I have Medicare and hopefully that will give me some nursing home care if I need it, although I hear the levels of available facilities suck badly. I have carried an expensive long term care policy to shelter me for three years after Medicare stops paying for the facility (six months I think) Not sure right now. It's a messy system.

After that runs out I have to report to the Soylent Green Corporation.
