However we got here, the one thing people forget about deterrent is that some people really think they are going to get away with it. While I am all for the death penalty for certain crimes prove beyond any doubt, if someone plans it right and the execution goes right, they will get away with it. Half of the murders are unsolved. There are spent rape kits in soe states people are bitching about because there are still rapists running around loose because the analysis has not been performed, FOR YEARS !
But more crime results in more budget. So it behooves then to fuck up as much as they can and just look busy.
I have been drinking and am under suspension, and I can't even see that well. But I would jump into a car and drive, in fact I intend to because my buddy bought a Porsche and I've never driven one. My odds of getting busted are probably about 500:1.
If you walk into a bar and just walk up to someone and shoot them and kill them and just walk out and drive away (with a cover over the license plate or in a stolen car) and drive at posted speed limits until you can dump the car or uncover the plate, your odds of getting busted run between 50:1 and 100:1. If there are 30 people in that bar they will get more than 30 descriptions, of both you ad the incident. People's minds go into a form of shock like when they hear a gunshot and it fucks up their memory. Any detective will tell you that it is rare that all the details match among the eyewitnesses, and they knew nobody had a reason to lie. So they just go with what all matches, but they don't forget. But that is only if they decide to investigate. If you are a bum and they find you behind a dumpster they are not going to spend alot of time on it.
Bottom line is there is no justice. Not at Neurenburg, not in Washington DC, not the EU, or the UN, or anywhere. If you are a target you go down no matter what, and if they like you, you ca get away with murder. This is what people in other countries do not understand about the US. I have sat in lawyers' offices and said "Yeah I did it, get me off, how much ?". Of course not many people have had quite the background I have, but that is how it was. And I never shot anyone.
Hey, how come they didn't go after the Stern gang for trying to make friends with Hitler ? they went after IBM for selling the Nazis computers.
Bunch of goddamn bitches I say and one of these days, when the US is so bled dry and cannot support them, their neighbors are going to kill them. And the Balfour Declaration will have been instrumental in facilitating that. How does that grab you ?
