Well everyone else has chimed in i guess it's my turn, to me any kind of submission whether sub or slave is a gift as long as its not taken, you see the sub/slave first must feel comfortable to be with you, to overcome their tenancies, to freely give of themselves so yeah its a Gift however a slave persona is slightly different in regards but the principle is the same, if the slave don't trust you or willingly submit to you initially and you take from them that which has not been gifted to you to do, isn't that the same as rape? ...so yeah once a contract is struck and ownership is given then that there is their Gift to the Sir/Master... respect and trust are two dynamics that neither can be given without the other in play

I believe submission is a gift. In one way. It is a gift like artistic ability, athletic prowess, or charisma. It is something inborn, and something that can be cultivated.

In that way, the gift can be given to another, that they deem worthy.

If submission is a gift, then does that mean domination is a gift too?

Is submission a gift? In my book definitely yes. I see it as a gift of friendship. I see submission is a part of friendship. It can also go much deep than friendship in a loving relationship.

Definition of the word gift is "A thing given willingly to someone without payment" A gift can be a present or can be an offering, gesture, ect.

Now lets clarify about submission. Kneeling down and letting someone whip you is not submission. It is merely kinky play. When you kneel down and give your heart, mind and soul to the other person, that is what I am meaning by submission.

This works on the other side of the coin too for Dominant giving of him or herself is a gift.

Why do I consider it a gift? I value friendship. When people or a person willingly gives of themselves to you that is something to be valued. It is a gift, and a precious gift. :)

I'd definitely treasure any dominant who is capable of dominating me. It is so rare for me, yes he will be a precious gift.

In the sense I defined it for myself, yes. Absolutely.

Then if domination can be a gift, then I guess submission can be a gift too.

Yes. That's how I see it, within certain definitions.
