The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump. The classified briefings last week were presented by four of the senior-most US intelligence chiefs -- Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, CIA Director John Brennan, and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers. It's not fake news... Trump is being held over a barrel by Putin and co., and the American people have elected a man who is known by multiple intelligence agencies to be in Putin's pocket. These are allegations, sure... but they're extremely plausible allegations. This is probably the most horrifying thing that has ever happened in American politics-- worse than Nixon, worse than Harding. And the shitbag hasn't even taken office yet. It's probably a good thing this is happening before he takes office, but holy fuck... what happens now???

They could just as easily be releasing this stuff because they know that people like you will eat it up and help undermine our system.

I'm amazed that the best insult a smart guy like you can come up with is 'take your medication', generic RW troll comment #8 (there are only 8). So you think it's perfectly normal for a world leader who has inexplicably, aggressively defended Russia at every turn to be presented with such information by a nation that had zero qualms about releasing harmful information on his opponent in the election? I thought that the point was 'undermining democracy'... it seems to me if they had dirt on Trump, making the president seem sketchy would be a pretty good way to do that-- but of course, it would make even MORE sense to use the information to make him their bitch. He's certainly behaving as if that's the case. I mean, you can say it probably isn't true... but based on what we know, does it seem so unlikely?
