Termyn8or -> RE: 'We Venezuelans are dying of hunger' (2/15/2017 4:17:52 PM)

FR Surprise surprise, Venezuela gets an administration the US hates even worse than Chavez. They loved Chavez there, he actually went out among the people. Then when the oil companies tried to limit production to prop up the price he put them in their place, which made him enemies with the US, the government of which works for said oil companies. So much so that they spent a ton of money trying to get his opponent elected the last time he ran, and couldn't do it. Before that the CIA went in there, kidnapped Chavez and installed a usual US puppet government but that lasted less than 48 hours as the PEOPLE of Venezuela ousted the imposed US led regime and found Chavez, got him out and put him right back in his office. When he died, the People down there did not know what to do. The Chavez style government was never to be again. But the country really was fairly content with his ways. I couldn't read the link in the OP because Yahoo wants to load too much and all I want is the text. Bear that in mind folks when you want to use a link, do not use Yahoo news. But a quick search tells me now the US is accusing Venezuela of being a major player in drug trafficking. Now that's a hoot because the fact is the biggest drug trafficker is the US. Nobody else could possibly meet the demands of this country, which pretty much wants to get high. In fact that is why the Taliban is a nono, because they will not allow the growing of poppies for drug use. And it is not all going on the street in ten dollar bags, alot of it is going into the hospitals, all nice and legal. But some does hit the illegal market as well, and is more potent than ever. Notice that this war on Afghanistan pretty much preceded the notable increase in opiate (or opioid) overdose deaths in the US. I am not one to engage in post hoc ergo propter hoc, but this is not a commodity you can just whip up in your kitchen. And remember even with the upsurge in deaths by OD on illegal drugs, the number is statistically irrelevant when compared to how many die from legal, prescribed drugs. Yeah, the US government accusing anyone of drug trafficking or supporting drug trafficking makes me laugh. I would go so far as to bet that the US government supported whoever replaced Chavez but now he is not their boy anymore, pretty much what became of "our boy in Bagdad" who was of course Saddam Hussein. We "helped" him into power to have someone antagonize Iran, but he got wise and did not want to put up with their shit anymore. So next comes a barrage of sanctions which eventually they will deal with. Like Cuba, there is still tourism, and if you live in the US you have to get their cigars from a company in Sweden or some shit. Didn't seem to hurt their healthcare though, which is still better than ours. The government of Venezuela will respond effectively to this or else they won't be the government of Venezuela much longer. Them people will rise up, just like they did for Chavez. Some dictator that the People risked life and limb and went against the US to have as their leader. to tell the truth, I cannot think of a US President in my lifetime for whom I would similarly risk my life and limb. But the fact is while the oil companies ran the government here, Chavez told them to go fuck off. They sit there "We need to keep the price high" but Chavez, for a socialist, actually had a brain and could handle simple math. His idea was "Fuck you, we ain't making enough money". So if these people are starving, where is all that oil money. Venezuela, like several countries, used to share the proceeds from their natural resources with the People. For example when oil got sky high, Iran subsidized cheap fuel for their Citizens, while the US piled on tax after tax. In one country, instead of an electric bill you get a check from the electric company. Tell me how great we are. Tell me how we could be a net exporter of oil, but don't forget that the money from it would go into the pockets of maybe ten people and the rest of us be damned. And you know it. They are wrecking the land with this fracking, did you get a check ? Someone bought alll the good old music from public domain, did you get a check for that ? No, only the super rich share in the profits from selling our stuff. Here is the bottom line. When Chavez ran things the country was doing alright. The oil wells did not dry up overnight. This indicates that instead of going for society (well they were kinda socialistic) the oil money is going elsewhere. WHERE ? The US government spent a ton of money trying to get rid of Chavez because he told them, quite frankly, to go fuck off. He did not go as far as Mosadeq in Iran (who the US government deposed and put in the Shah, the butcher) by nationalizing the oil wells, but his actions took alot of control away from the oil companies and that pissed the US off bigtime. During those years, as a semi-socialist country, they did well. Pretty much universal education, subsidies for all kinds of things. It would make the people at those liberal cry-ins cry. share the wealth, but the difference is that they were taking that wealth out of the ground, not my pocket, nor yours. Think about the US and think about how come the proceeds from natural resources here are not shared with the People. Think about if you lived near Niagra Falls and instead of paying an electric bill you got a check every month. Of course operational expenses and upkeep are deducted. And then the farther away you live the less subsidy you get because of distribution costs, but still they are getting the energy for free, what gives them the right to sell it, TO YOU ? Not to some schmuck overseas, I mean a working taxpaying Citizen of this country that supposedly we all own. You bitched about Cliven Bundy's grazing fees the US government simply decided they were entitled to one day, despite the fact that he has a better claim on every blade of grass there. But you have nothing to say about fracking, oil pipelines n shit. What about the helium in Texas. That is the only source of helium in the world unless you make it and that costs out the gazoob. Do you get a check for that ? Well in some countries you would, but not in the good old US of A. Get two things through your heads. first of all we do not have it all that good in the US. Second of all, things are not as bad as they tell you in other countries. You want to talk about food lines ? Well I have been looking for a beef tenderloin for a month and can't find one. I even went to Heinens which is a Jewish high end, and priced store. And they have quality, REAL quality. I had no problem dropping a hundred bucks for a tenderloin but even they don't have them. WTF ! in fact I am having trouble finding beef bones. What, are they grinding them up for cattle feed or whatever ? Is it getting like the salt where they make more money from what they refine from it than what they sell you ? Like lowfat milk. I said I can add my own water and they said "it is not the same". Well exactly WHAT is not the same then ? Business is business folks and it is open season on you if you live in the US. What are they selling out of that lowfat milk ? Now tell me how much food we export. Do it in tons because that is the only way it works. We export wheat. Try to live on wheat. If you do it in dollar value you discover yet another trade deficit. There is too much cost involved in raising the good food here, same even with vitamin tablets. Same with many drugs, and these cocksuckers, who just hoodwinked Trump at the table, will import drugs en masse from China or Israel where our patent laws do not apply, and then put their name on the pills and sell them as their own. Wouldn't you ? So the US accuses Venezuela of drug trafficking. First of all I could not care less. Second of all I don't believe them. What happened to Mexico ? I thought Trump's wall would fix all that. Oh, that's right, 95 % of the people in this country do not know the people I know. A wall will not keep drugs from Mexico out. They usually come in on planes, boats, and even big trucks that say "J. B. Hunt" on the side. Either that or military transports, which never get searched of course. What would you do ? The hypocrisy is overwhelming. Plus the fact that the demand for drugs in the US is so high that if they would get their head out their ass and tax it instead of putting people in jail for it they would have all kinds of money rolling in. (they are paid to maintain a deficit, details are beyond the scope of this text) Drug trafficking my ass, an accusation from the biggest drug trafficker in the world. Thanks for making my day, I needed a good laugh. T^T
