Glad to hear that, Kirata. If I recall right, you're a conservative. It used to be conservatives were big on privacy. I wish more of them still were.

Conservatives are still big on privacy.
Republicans, not so much.

Few seem to catch on that 40-50 year conversion (degradation) of the repub party.

.....and even then...too few conservatives.

There is no way to keep your ISP from knowing which pages you visit.

There are thousands of ways to prevent your ISP from knowing what you're looking at... from VPN's, to Proxies, to basic encryption. All your ISP does is connect your IP address to another IP address and transfers data between the two. If you proxy your activity through something else - all your ISP see's is you attaching to that something and that's it.

Maybe take your own advise:

True story.

I think we're missing something here though in the representation---there are indeed republican senators who are conservative or libertarian and very concerned about privacy and yet it seems the vote was almost down party lines.

id love to hear, for instance, rand paul's reasoning.

Conservatives care about ALL the constitution.
A majority of Republicans seem to only care about the second amendment............and lining their pocket.

Don't feel left out Democrats. Most of them only care about amendments 1 and 5...............and lining their pockets.

Yep, the dems just not nearly as much. I.e., amateurs vs the repubs...real pros.

Oh yeah, that was a real "debunking", BoscoTheClown. Basically: previously only two companies could do this awful thing to Americans, now thanks to my Republican heros, all KINDS of media conglomerates can sell my most private info!!

FACT: Every Republican tax proposal of the last five decades has favored the 1% more than the Democrats' proposals. Do you enjoy making a fool of yourself here with your continual right wing projections, BoscoX?

Well, since only the rich pay taxes, for the most part - yeah. Every tax cut will favor them.

So what's your point. Are you saying you would be happier if you lived someplace like Venezuela, North Korea, or Cuba where wealth is all but outlawed?

Where you can't get things like toilet paper, because of their wonderful socialist policies

And where Dear Leader (cough*OBAMA*cough)and the 1% are one and the same

As to your OP, I'm just tired of all the partisanship, and especially the lazy people who blame all troubles on one side or the other.

It is quite disingenuous to accuse an independent thinker of "intellectual laziness" when the accuser relies on a cookie cutter ideology or standard party platform himself.

It's true that I have voted for more Democrats than Republicans historically, but I have seen the Democrats doing none of us much good for some years, now.

The ONLY reason, the only purpose of your OP was to make claim or give example that Republicans were the only cause for our downfall. You found convenience to that purpose by way of one of the few instances where the vote went by strict party lines. How often does that happen?

OTOH, there are plenty of instances of Republican sponsored (written by ALEC or whatever lobbying firm or think tank) legislation voted for by a number of Democrats, and some of that even opposed by some Republicans.

I know that Obama was incessantly obstructed from the few good things he tried to push across (the Republicans pulled the neat trick of eviscerating anything good about the ACA in committee, then not showing up for the vote), but then he also had an agro-chem guy as "food safety csar" (Micheal Taylor- Monsanto) and pushed Larry Summers to be head of the Federal Reserve.

If one or both of those items wouldn't make you want to smash your computer against the wall throwing it into the next room, I don't know what would.

I still have that computer, but it was a close call.

What I do find hilarious in any case is Republican acolytes carping when a Democrat holds to the Republican platform and looks after business interests, which has been done numerous times over. Some idiot here kept referring to "Hillary Goldman Sachs Clinton" ignoring the R's history on that, until Trump hurriedly got six GS people in the process as soon as elected. Haven't heard it since.

Don't be that guy.

There are millions who are not rich who pay taxes, and there are many of rich people who pay little, if they are rich enough.

As percentage, GE and a number of the largest earning corporations in the US pay less taxes than the guy at Chicken Wing King! or the woman at the local grocery store.

Do try to keep up.

Liar!

45% of Americans pay no federal income tax

Most people (who aren't rich) get money "refunded" to them that they didn't pay in

Look, whether you like it or not, the stuff you (hopefully) learned in Civics class holds true here. We DO have a Congress (yes? I hope no disagreement there?), they DO vote on laws, and those laws DO affect you and me when they go into effect.

And I'm sorry that you're "tired of all the partisanship", but if you look back at those links in my OP, you will note that this was passed on nearly a straight party line vote. It LITERALLY should be blamed on one party. The party that voted to make this law, and the president who signed it.

Or does holding those who do things accountable for doing the things offend your sensibilities too much?

Obama gave his crony gazillionaire friends Bezos and Zuckerberg sweetheart deals for their help against the Republicans, let them sell your data while prohibiting others from doing the same thing

Using he laws of the land to pick winners and losers while profiting politically and financially from their corruption

Leaving all of you useful idiot alt left types, sucking their 1% ass and griping because those mean old Republicans leveled the playing field

So you are innumerate and can't read, what's new?

Where in your link was there any information about -percentage of own income- paid in taxes? Nowhere.

There was grouping of income levels, which says nothing about typical individuals within those groups. Five percent within a quintile can skew the numbers within, not that I expect you to understand any of that.

There were both those among the lowest quintile and in the .1% who paid little or no taxes.

Considering the fact that the US hasn't raised the minimum wage in forever and that the US bails out banks who pay $26 million bonuses for driving the business into the dirt except for the bailouts, or in any other case, why is there anyone in the top .1 % not paying taxes?

And yes, most of MacDonald workers and Walmart workers pay taxes. These are known as 'the working poor,' and one could argue that they shouldn't have kids if they are that poor, but one could also ask WTF! that the richest country in the world has so many millions of people they can't pay sufficiently enough to do what nature says and have kids.

You are a classified idiot and self-admired lunatic, so I know I'm wasting my time in even saying this, but when wages keep falling behind increase in productivity, then the economy will decline. The US employment rate has gotten to a somewhat normal level, but that as result of the wages of the lowest two quntiles being lower than they were ten years ago.

If you want the lowest income earners to pay more taxes, then pay them enough money to do so or STFU.

You are really thick

The lowest earners get money refunded that they never paid in, only the top 55% pay taxes. Middle income and up

With the wealthiest paying most all of the taxes - period.

My link proved that

Only in your crazed hallucinations has anyone asked the poor to pay more taxes.

Well, except the alt left global warming cult people, who want to tax breathing, practically.

And I have never complained about some people not paying taxes, you are probably just insane, and your voices are telling you that I posted that.

I never posted anything of the sort

And I pay a lot of taxes on my winnings, it all gets reported and taxed at a higher rate

I'm starting to wonder if you ever worked in your life.

I paid taxes when I was washing dishes in a hotel restaurant when I was 15. Deducted from paycheck every two weeks. I think I got a refund from the IRS about three times in my life, but the net was always in the government's favor in every year I've worked.

I already told you what shit your link was, and I already explained why that was so, and already explained that you are incapable of understanding anything I said and there is no way I could dumb it down enough for you. Any imagined or experimental stupid I could come up with would still be ten times above your 'brightest.'

There is just no hope for the situation, here.

You mean like the blinds, door locks, obscurity fences, and tinted windows to keep curious individuals from looking into your house/property?
kinda already is a for-profit marketplace... unless if you want to start suggesting to ban telescopes and binoculars.
