It would of course be an Americanized version of it, but I can't imagine the majority being unhappy with things like universal health care, college for all and higher salaries all around.

Like the Democrats you don't understand they are too far to the left already.

Ridiculous.
There isn't even a left wing party in the US.

Voters choose between right wing and batshit insane... everyone seems to know this except Americans like you.
Whenever you choose batshit insane, the country becomes a sort of terrifying joke.

Republicans are 5 - 0 in special elections since Trump won. Bad news for liberals. Maybe they should move farther to the left.

You think winning GOP seats in GOP territory is some kind of a shift?

Not a shift. More like a trend. The dems spent millions to defeat Handel, all for another loss.

Leftists were so sure that Trump is so hated, that they would waltz into that congressional seat (with a little help from several million in Soros cash)

"Liberals" threw everything they had at that seat. Their guy even pretended to be a Republican

Love the Drudge headline this morning

DEMS LOSE AGAIN

OK. You think the GOP winning seats in GOP territory formerly held by the GOP is a "trend"?

Because it looks more like business as usual, despite the Dems attempts to shake the tree.

Though they came closer than excepted in these given the circumstances.

2018 favors the GOP structurally. The Dems may struggle. We'll see.

It's a long trend that began when Barack was anointed. Hundreds of seats lost, most states legislatures and governorships lost, the presidency lost and the Supreme Court may remain conservative for generations to come now . It's been a massive power shift to the right since the most transparent administration ever washed over the country with it's fundamental hope and change dogshit breath rhetoric

It is because of Obama. Since he was elected, the dems have lost 900 + state legislature seats, 12 govenors,69 house seats and 13 senate seats. He was a disaster for the democrat party.

Right. So it's STILL about Obama.

How long you figure it will still be about Obama?

Is this going to be a butthurt 'til the end of time, like the New Deal or the Great Society?

How long will it be before you accept that it IS because of Obama that the Republicans have won so many seats?

As much as I despise agreeing with Bosco on anything, it stands to reason that if Obama had done more to help the Rust Belt before the election, Hillary would have walked away with it. His presidency was always sort of more about him than his party... he didn't do enough PR or associate himself with his party's values. Even though he left office with a high approval rating, it didn't matter because he didn't tie it to his party.

This definitely isn't a trend, though... the Democrats were the ones hoping for a shift here.

They keep clinging to the 'FFS Trump is AWFUL' narrative and while it is 100% true, it's not working because nobody gives a shit.

The Russia thing is serious, but people don't care about treason or betraying America as much as they care about jobs, their futures, their quality of life-- none of which have been improved by neoliberalism and the well-off elites, which is what the Democrats still represent to a large number of people.

Really? Seriously?

1) Bush and the GOP drive for one-party rule goes so far overboard that 2006 hands them their ass.
2) 2008 hands them the rest of their ass shreds, especially after they were in charge as the economy was destroyed.
3) OMG!!!! A leftist black dude is in charge! Even though mainly, except for the ACA, he was Bush Lite, with the same policies
4) The GOP works hard to block Obama from doing anything, positions the fight to win back seats
5) People get so pissed off at both parties the GOP can't control its field, the Dems run Hilary, and without Sanders, enough people settle for Trump that he manages to squeak by.
6) Now, 6 months later, GOP candidates are winning GOP seats by narrower margins.

You: It's all about Obama.

Me: How long you figure it's going to be all about Obama?

You: Accept that the GOP are winning GOP seats by narrower margins because of Obama!

Me: You aren't hooked up right. Go play outside in the sunshine.

Obama, for all his Bush Lite bullshit, managed to finally achieve what no president since Truman has been able to do -- get a health care bill through.

The GOP has been frantically butthurt ever since.

You're so funny. People don't agree with you and it's either they don't give a shit in mass or they're all stupid.
