Pelosi faces growing doubts among Dems after Georgia loss

There's a lot of grumbling by rank-and-file members, but no leadership change is imminent.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats put a brave face on Wednesday morning after a disappointing loss in the Georgia special election, yet there is no disguising the unhappiness in the party ranks.

There is no challenge to Pelosi’s leadership, and none is going to happen at this point, said numerous Democrats. But it’s clear frustration is growing with the longtime Democratic leader following the extensive losses Democrats have suffered over the past half-decade.

And the fact that Republicans spent millions of dollars on TV ads tying Democratic hopeful Jon Ossoff to Pelosi — and the brand of progressive policies she represents — shows that she will once again be an issue for Democratic challengers in the very districts that the party needs to win to make her speaker again.

Some Democrats want to replace Pelosi atop their caucus, as they have since last November’s poor showing at the polls; they say there is no way to get back in the majority with her as their leader. And others who backed her in last year’s leadership challenge have now flipped their stance.

“I think you’d have to be an idiot to think we could win the House with Pelosi at the top,” said Rep. Filemon Vela (D-Texas), who supported Pelosi in her last leadership race. “Nancy Pelosi is not the only reason that Ossoff lost. But she certainly is one of the reasons.”...

Not to mention that all the news is about what the next dem message should be. No, for years they haven't actually thought about governing, merely about how to get elected. $35 million in Georgia was never about how to run government, just about how to control government and keep the special interest money coming.

Only ObamaCare insurer in most Iowa counties to hike premiums by 43.5 percent

Sure. Once they actually had to include decent coverage in their "insurance," it started costing what health insurance costs everywhere else.

But...but...but single payer is so cheap. Say it ain't so that it's really much more costly when you factor in all costs including rationing. Oh...oh...oh...what am I to believe now?

Obama promised every family huge savings, and he knew he was lying as he did so

Jonathon Gruber was caught on video mocking the useful idiots who believed Obama, too

Democrats could definitely use a change in leadership.

Repubs threw people out. It's time for dems to do the same. We can't keep them just on message to get elected. They have to really believe they should govern and state why they should. Of course if they do that they'll never get elected. But hey, fuck them.

The party of no: “Democrats would do much better” if they would work more with Republicans, Pres. Trump tweeted after Republican Karen Handel’s win in the high-profile Georgia congressional special election.

Republicans would do much better if they worked with Republicans too.

They control all branches of government, and they're still in deadlock.

Can't get much more "no" than that.

Hopefully we can get rid of a lot of the scumbag RINOs

They're just like Democrats - promise balanced budgets before an election, then after the election double down on deficit spending

But without all of the race baiting poverty and pimping and sheer radical insanity

Funny -- they think YOU are the problem.

No one ever answered this -- the GOP has an official platform. What part of the that platform are the "RINOs" violating?

Already answered in the post directly above

That's not the only thing, but it's a big one

OK. Which Republicans did that? Cite them doing it.

WHAT other things?

Which part of the GOP platform calls for a balanced budget? Or forbids deficit spending?

Because if that's your main complaint, every one of the them is a RINO, and has been for some time.

But if it's not part of the GOP platform, then YOU are the RINO.

Then nutsuckers are rinos. Because you look at all the nutsuckers out there voting for higher debt ceilings and borrowing and spending, and thats how you get 20 trill in debt, and spending money you dont have is how you end up with half a trill in debt for this year so far.

Cant say that it aint nothing but nutsuckers running the government.

And it has been nutsuckers running the money for decades.

So you don't have an answer.

Nothing for me to get lathered about. It's your empty talk.

When Democrats joined the GOP in promoting oligarchy, I didn't whine about DINO. I just no longer supported their platform and policy, so I stopped being a Democrat.

Been successful getting Working Families candidates elected locally and in state houses.

Oh, I've got answers. But you are just a troll. Seriously.

You are edging closer and closer to the more insane end of the spectrum every day, entering HeavyDrinker and mnottertroll mode

And there is no need to lower myself to your ever sinking level every time you demand that I answer your non sequitur red herring straw man ad hominem stupidity

Call me a RINO, call me anything you want. It's really okay, because everyone with half a clue knows that you are really just a mindless desperate troll

Well, if you can't actually pin down violations of the GOP platform, then you're simply wrong about RINOs.

* shrug *

My preference is too read 1-3 links as long as they are not books. Video clips say 1-5 minutes. I read 6 of yours including your two last ones from those dodgy sites ;)

Trumpnocare will be a fuking disaster. But until the top secret work of fiction is made public it is impossible to comment. It won’t pass either, even though they will try ram it through with how much “speaking time?”

America should have the best health care system in the world because it spends 2-3 times more of its GDP on it than any other nation. Do you Americans know this?

This is exactly where the money goes:
1. Insurance companies’ profits have almost doubled under ACA Obamacare
2. These are by far the guilter off all - Big Pharma is raking it in at record levels It’s not just breakthrough drugs that are soaring. Drugmakers are hiking prices of older medicines too; pharma bad boy Martin Shkreli’s 5,000 percent increase of the AIDS drug Daraprim last year was the most brazen example, but hardly the only one.

I couldn’t find anything regarding % extra demand on the health care system.

Many Americans are fixated to the point of complete irrationality and blame Obamacare (ACA) poor people, and people with existing conditions ( I get that they cost more). But your money is getting siphoned off at an unheralded rate by number 2, not so much 1.

You lot are getting fuked. More than half of you are too dumb to realise that

Now go read this or look at the pretty graphs and tables rather than go mawaahhhh Obama poor people etc

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-28212223

For fuks sake Pfizer (US) are taking the complete piss.

Well, apparently the repubs are doing something impossible for the dems. They're voting their conscience rather than how their leadership tells them.
