Johnson’s work, funded by the UK and New Zealand agriculture ministries, builds on findings in human volunteers of specific patterns of brain electrical activity when they feel pain. Recorded with electroencephalograms, the patterns were reproducible in at least eight other mammal species known to be experiencing pain.

Johnson developed a way of lightly anaesthetising animals so that although they experienced no pain, the same electrical pain signals could be reliably detected, showing they would have suffered pain if awake.

The team first cut calves’ throats in a procedure matching that of Jewish and Muslim slaughter methods. They detected a pain signal lasting for up to 2 minutes after the incision. When their throats are cut, calves generally lose consciousness after 10 to 30 seconds, sometimes longer.

It's so sad that damn religious bullshit keep spreading lies that slitting throat is painless killing. Common sense tell you, if you wanna commit suicide, slitting your own throat is not the most painless way. It's just crazy how people believe the Muslim bullshit that their slaughtering methods are painless.

Whereas I do like the logic of the stunning method. It is base on science and intercepting pain receptors, so it instantly prevent the animal from feeling pain. Same could be done to a human. Except we generally use injected anaethesia instead which is not practical for meat to be consumed.

At least one Muslim organisation has admitted their methods is not humane and allow the animal to be stunned first. Muslims just need the damn brain to be alive while the animal bleeds to death. But if the stun can intercept the pain receptors, then at least the animal is like under an anaesthesia effect, which is humane.

People who study humane animal killing just wants the religious bullshit to apply some kind of anaesthesia before slitting the throat of the animal, so the animal won't have to go through the feeling of pain.

Now I am all for religious freedom since even athiests have religion, so the only real solution as I see is to have processing information on the label and not to buy their goods, no demand will put them out of business on the larger scale. People should start to learn that its not 'religion' thats the problem but specific belief one by one they exercise, otherwise everyone is cutting their own throats ultimately to give up one of their 5 most important rights.

While on the other hand the animal with a throat cut is still alive, aware and pumping adrenaline into the muscles for some time. One of the reasons that you want a quick clean kill,
other than respect for the animal, is so the meat isn't tainted from chemicals pumped by an animal in distress. The religious justification for draining the blood is because the life is in
the blood, Leviticus 17:11. In the old days draining the blood before life fled was gods law. With modern technology the old way of slashing the throat and allowing the animal to
bleed out is not the gentlest way to treat the animal and still observe the religious justification

Nope, I did my full medical just earlier this year and perfect health. No diabetes. No high blood, No high cholesterol, No thyroid issues. Basically, clean bill of health.

But the insane level of pain has always been there all my life.

Nurses always gets scared to death if they try to draw my blood for testing. As I scream like I am getting murdered because it's so fucking painful and they gotta hold me down and try a few times. It fucking hurts like fuck. And I don't know how people take the pain.

Same shit happen to me in acupuncture. The needles only stayed in for less than 5 minutes and I was in so much excruciating pain that the chinese doctor just says, I can't do acupuncture.

I seriously hate paper cut. I've not been punched by floyd but I have been by my teachers and my mother. And it was less painful for sure!

I'm pretty sure a punch by floyd though will render me into coma immediately with his strength. So I may not feel pain too.

10 to 30 secs is pretty horrifying to be conscious and feeling your throat cut dumbass! That's cruelty already. The whole point is that they experience ZERO pain and the electric shock calibrated to the correct area in their brain instantly does this. Cut off the pain signals.
